/r/CCW Matches

Discussing gun belts, holsters, and compact guns is fun. Want to know what's even more fun? Getting out to the range with that gear and training. In an effort to motivate people to train with their daily carry guns, we will begin /r/CCW Matches./r/CCW will begin running month-long "matches." These are largely honor-based, though we are installing a few safe-guards in the hopes of keeping people honest. We have attempted to make these matches very easy for everyone to enter, difficult enough to challenge shooters across all levels, and the Match Sponsor has the capability to throw in their own fun metrics should they desire to do so.Requirements:EntryEntries will take place between 1st - 22nd of the month. Scoring will take place from the 23rd through the last day of the month. To be considered for entry, your shooting video and/or scoring photograph must be submitted as a comment before the 23rd of the month.Scoring and PrizesThree winners will be chosen by the Match Sponsor. The Overall Winner will be scored on accuracy by the Match Sponsor. Accuracy is defined by the culmination of all shots fired across all targets. Second Place and Third Place are chosen by the Match Sponsor, who will set their own metric for those positions. Such supplementary scoring may include most misses, best/worst times, best/worst groupings, best/worst magazine changes, or any metric of their choosing (including completely random/arbitrary metrics). The Match Sponsor will be responsible for all scoring and distribution of prizes.TargetsOne target will be placed at a distance no closer than 10-yards from the shooter's muzzle. This target must contain three 3x5" lined index cards. Shooter is allowed to make pencil or ink markings on these cards to increase visibility.Course of FireShooter must begin with a total of fifteen rounds of ammunition, separated into magazines containing no more than five rounds of ammunition per magazine. Shooter will fire one magazine (five rounds) per target, for a total of three targets and fifteen rounds of ammunition.Submission RequirementsOverall Winner:To be entered for Overall Winner, submit a single photograph displaying all three index cards and Shooter's firearm. Both Shooter and a Witness must sign each of Shooter's index cards. Reddit usernames are permitted.Second Place and Third Place:To be entered for Second and Third Place, the entire course of fire must be captured, uninterrupted, on video and submitted along with the still photograph for Overall Winner submission.Exclusions/r/CCW Moderators are prohibited from winning prizes.Barrels exceeding six inches are prohibited.Optics containing magnification are prohibited.Use of a bench rest, arm support, or similar physically supportive device is prohibited. Please discuss. We welcome feedback and constructive criticism for the next few days, and have the intentions for this to begin 4/1. We have a number of Sponsors already in place who are excited to give away belts, holsters, and swag in exchange for motivating people to get out on the shooting range with their daily carry equipment. As a thank you to these sponsors, their names will be attached to their corresponding monthly /r/CCW Match. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2HKtAqS
