Concealed G34 MOS, 5.3 inch barrel? Tier 1 Concealed's Axis Slim holster.

I’ve daily-carried the G34 MOS for a few years, only falling back on the G19 MOS and G30S when I need the extra concealment afforded by a compact. But this has had me wondering... with the modern advancement of high-tech holsters and heavy-duty gun belts, does an inch here and there really made a difference? Can someone conceal the G34, assuming they are using top-of-the-line equipment?I decided to try the Axis Slim, from Tier 1 Concealed. I won’t lie to you all: my attraction to this holster was the “shock cord” flexible connection between the magazine caddy and the firearm holster. When discussing a serious mission objective like comfortably concealing a G34, that little bit of flexibility translates to an enormous difference in comfort. And Tier 1 accomplishes this very well. I have an appreciation for products which offer those extra steps of comfort and adaptability-- whether it’s cant adjustment, height adjustment, or this flexible connection between the two pieces. Small details like this yield the difference in a holster being comfortable for 10% of the population, versus a holster being comfortable for 90% of the population. Canonical truth, from the renowned philosopher Dr. David Koechner. This extra flexibility also results in increased concealment, as the wing will push outwards on the belt and the shock cord connection affords that extra range of motion to allow the firearm grip to tuck into the body body. This is especially important with movement such as bending, moving and crawling while on the ground, and climbing in and out of vehicles. This is truly a tactical concealment holster. The shock cord looks great, too. Without adding any bulk or superfluous extras, it’s an eye-catching detail and checks the appropriate tacticool box for us gear-lovers. The 0.08” Kydex is moderately trimmed, features nice molding for a good lockup, and is par for the course among the upper echelon of holster manufacturers. The belt clips do stand out, though- these are really excellent belt clips. They are stiff, tough, low-profile, and I’ve been impressed with them while using my trusted Beltman belts and a couple new nylon belts from Blue Alpha Gear. One more detail is the aggressively-embossed “TIER 1” lettering on the wing, which grips and firmly holds the wing into place on the inside of the belt regardless of our body movement through the day.Concealing the G34 MOS isn’t for the faint of heart, and I should preface this with the fact that I’ve been daily-carrying full-size (…and larger) pistols for over ten years. But putting all 2.25 lbs of the G34 MOS into a concealed role hasn’t been as challenging as I anticipated. With the Axis Slim holster, it’s more comfortable than I anticipated and concealment is exceptional. I’m three weeks into this adventure, and excited to continue vetting this setup.Picture album. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2Hf0lgb
