AZ CCW

So I applied for my AZ resident CCW permit 2 days ago. They said it could take up to 75 days but was curious of others experience.To start off. I’m actually not a gun owner yet, don’t plan on carrying in majority of the time anyway other than when visiting family in TN and live in a constitutional carry state.So why get a CCW before even owning a pistol? For me it was the education. I wanted to learn the laws before even owning a firearm. What do you guys think? Was it a waste of money or a wise decision?
