I don't own a gun, but I've thought about concealed carry. It goes without saying that owning and carrying a gun daily requires one to be cognizant of themselves and others constantly due to the fact that you're carrying around a deadly weapon. Having situational awareness, to me, makes up a good percentage of the thoughts in my head, and I would imagine that owning a gun would only increase that because of the whole gun safety thing. Its as if you carry a little bit of anxiety (and reassurance) with you everywhere you go. For those who know a little about computers, its like having a background program constantly running using up your RAM.Also, in your daily life, sometimes situations occur when you're a little more physically active or something of the sorts, that you didn't plan onExample: You just got off of work and are walking home or to the parking lot or whatever and some coworkers ask you if you want to shoot hoops near by. You don't necessarily care about shooting hoops in jeans but you're also carrying. Do you say you have to put something in the car? which could potentially make it known to people that you're carrying while also defeating the purpose of the carry because you're without your weapon? Or do you just shoot hoops with a gun, which does not sound like a great ideaI just feel like that added stress and anxiety might be a little annoying to carry, disregarding the assurance of carrying a weapon. What have been your mental experiences with carrying? When carrying, do you guys think about the fact that you're carrying often? or after a while is it just an after thought, that you sometimes forget about (which doesn't seem entirely safe).
