An interesting comment.

For some reason I recently remembered (vaguely!) an article I read that I believe was written by Jeff Cooper. The basic comment stayed with me so I’ll paraphrase it here. My apologies if I have the wording or original author incorrect. “I was once asked by a lady if I recommended she should carry a .25 caliber pistol for defense. I told her No for the following reason. If she carried such a pistol and something happened, she might pull it out and fire it. If she fired it she might hit someone and if she hit someone and they found out about it, they might be rather annoyed!” Just a humorous thought that has rattled around my foggy memories for a few years. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2v0rm2B
