I've noticed a lot more posts on this subreddit in regards to "what holster should I choose" and I wanted to kind of put my own experiences and opinions down on paper for those who are curious and maybe just shed some light on the topic at hand. For the purpose of this comparison, I chose 3 AIWB holsters that I have used pretty extensively in the past and will consistently recommend to people who are willing to try Appendix carry. I am a 5'5" guy who weighs roughly 160-170 (it fluctuates pretty consistently). Let Me Explain:The gun I carry everyday is a Glock 19 Gen 3 with an RMR and surefire X300u-B and a glock 17 with the oem +2 attached as a backup magFirst, some background, I carried 4 o clock for about 2 years before I made the switch over to Appendix and I couldn't be happier. A CCWer should be aware that appendix is indeed fast, has the ability to be comfortable, and depending on body: be able to carry a larger gun than expected. I've gone through multiple different carry guns and light combinations before I settled on what I use now. One bit of transparency before I go into the comparison though. If you carry appendix, you HAVE TO realize that one mistake can literally cost you your life. an ND into your femoral artery will indeed be a bad day and you will die quickly.StandardCoUSA: the atlas is a phenomenal piece of kydex like most are. It has a piece of Hypalon flex that aids in the comfortability. The lines are clean, retention is on point, and the aluminum carry "claw" really aids to push the butt of the gun into you. This has been my person carry method for about 5 months now. You will receive the holster, a bottle of locktite, and a sticker with your order in a hefty plastic bag. It is a bit wider than the other two but I find it to be the most comfortable with my body type.Tier1Concealed: another fantastic holster choice in the Axis Slim. super clean lines, great vacuum styled retention, and the use of 550 or bungee is very helpful in comfort as well. It is much slimmer than the Atlas overall so if you find that your body isn't that wide, this might work better for you. lots of points of adjustability and the claw also works to push your butt of your pistol into you. You will receive a cloth bag with your order. This is the most expensive option overall. The only reason I switched from the Axis to the Atlas was due to this holster being slimmer so the x300 would sometimes dig into my thigh.Trex Arms: Fantastic company based out of TN so I have some heritage and love for them overall. This is a "one piece" design in that there is no bending material to aid in comfort. that being said, the Sidecar works very well to match the natural curvature of the body without the aid of a bending medium. this was my choice of holster when I used the APLc, tlr1hl, and APL. It is the cheapest of the 3 options. The claw for the sidecar was the most comfortable to me personally because it had wider surface area and wasn't as tight of a push against my belt. I recommend this holster for the more skinny guys due to the lack of bending aid and the natural curvature of the holster itself. The holster comes with a trex arms sticker and you can ask Lucas, Drew, or Steve to sign it for you.All of this being said, all 3 holsters are COMPLETELY fantastic and workable. If possible, get friends to let you try their holsters or find people who use these holsters and have a similar body type to you to get their opinion. I messaged @Milspec_mojo on Instagram for about a week before I switched to the ATLAS on his recommendation. Happy hunting and experience and remember to always carry.(All of these holsters offer a MIL/LEO discount with the correct credentials. If you have any questions or would like to know anything else, please leave a comment and I will get back as soon as I can. via /r/CCW http://bit.ly/2HPVUGL
