Good Ammo for self defense?

Is there a more comfortable way to carry AIWB?

Been carrying AIWB for about 6 months now, then early this year started having pain in my groin. Just saw a urologist and told him that my holster pushes against the pubic bone, he said that's aggravating a small hernia and I need to stop.Am I just carrying too low on my waist? If I elevate the holster, the the grip will be digging into my ribs and will print more. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong.I don't want to start carrying on my hip, I like the appendix position for drawing, And I've spent a lot of money on T1C holsters for my 2 carry pistols. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/ajdVfwc

Looking for a safe that allows me to put gun in without unholstering

I know lots of questions get asked about safes but I’ve had a hard time specifically finding ones that allow me to place my gun in it at the end of the day (on or near my nightstand) without unholstering. I’m currently using a Vaultek Slider which is a really nice safe that I have mounted to my bed but doesn’t allow for a holster.Im looking at this V-Line safe which based on its dimensions should fit my P365X and Axis Elite but wanted to see if there were any crowd favorites for cheaper or that were better suited for the nightstand than that one.I’m also planning on getting a Lifepod for the car/hotels but definitely don’t think that’ll allow for a holster, otherwise I’d get another for the nightstand. Thanks for any and all suggestions! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/oImJr8y

conceal carry adjacent topic but Im looking to buy a rifle or AR pistol in a rifle caliber for traveling. Obviously laws will be obeyed within reason but it would be nice to have something with more firepower than my carry pistol that i can easily stow in a backpack or suitcase to carry into hotels in places where it may be less than permissive to tote a long gun case into the hotel room. dumb Noob question.

MODS please remove if this is against the rules but I have zero experience with guns like I've never even held one, I mightve seen some armored police officers with Gucci AR's. Everything i know about guns comes from Movies, Video games and Reddit. So finally getting to the point of this post the question: Can you realistically Conceal carry 3 different types of handguns ? And i dont mean 3 desert Eagles but ideally an HK P30L for main carry, compact Glock as a secondary and a .38 revolver for ankle carry. Does this sound ridiculous to any one ? And NO DW im NOT going to be getting these guns this thought just passed my head while watching John Wick. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/xcQkFHA

Stop making posts about mental issues and asking others if you should own a firearm

The fact that you DONT TRUST YOURSELF and need others go ahead and validation says it all. I tried to keep this as simple as possible. My best advice find another hobby, use non lethal for self defense.Majority of people that get killed by police are mentally ill. There’s countless suicide by cop videos online because someone was off there meds and experienced an episode. To prevent this all together don’t get a firearm, if you feel the need to post and ask people if you should don’t post don’t get a firearm. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/0Rqw7Eo

Glock 34 Gen 5 MOS

Does anyone here have experience with carrying the Glock 34 Gen 5 MOS?Any pros/cons of using it as a CCW?My go-to CCW for years has been a Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS FS and I love it, I used to carry a S&W Shield and found the Glock 19 to fill my hand better and have more capacity.Any reason(s) to stick with the Glock 19 and pass on carrying a Glock 34? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/bQeFgZN

have any of you switched from a s&w shield plus to a sig p365? what was your reason and are you happy with the switch?

i have been carrying a shield for years and switched to the plus when it came out. i've always been content with them but i looked at a p365 today and it felt good aside from the mushy trigger. i've only ever carried a shield so i don't have much experience branching out to other carry pistols, and while i like my shield, i'm wondering if i might be happier with something else instead.this isn't related to performance, but something that kind of left a bad taste my mouth recently with smith and wesson was trying to get the slide stop fixed. it never locked open unless i engaged it with my thumb and it's been like this since i got it brand new when the plus came out, but aside from that it always shot great and never jammed or anything, and it still doesn't. i was coming up on the manufacturer warranty expiring so i sent it off for them to fix (didn't include the mags because they said not to, so they tested it with whatever mags they have at the repair place). i finally got it back a month and a half later and the paper said it was range tested and passed so they sent it back with nothing changed. still didn't work with the mags that came with the gun. i had to email them again and ask for some new springs and followers because i figured that was the problem. when i got those and installed them, the slide finally locked open when i manually racked the slide, but the next time i shot it at the range, it was back to the same old crap and it still doesn't work when i shoot it. like i said the gun still works fine in all the ways that matter, but this experience has made me more open to trying different brands, where i previously had a bit of brand loyalty to smith and wesson, for ccwthe reasons i have liked the shield plus is the flat trigger and the capacity, but the p365x and xl have the same capacity and a flat trigger, as well as being optics ready, whereas the only optics ready shields i've seen in real life were long slide/barrel performance center with ported barrel, and even then i've only seen maybe two or three of them locally since the plus came out. i've kept my eye out of them again and never saw another one at any local places. i've thought about getting mine sent off and cut but i'm glad i was too lazy to do it because it makes sense now that i'm looking at other options, to just buy one that's already optics ready. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/o9QV8L2

I had a gun stolen from me a year ago, and today I got a call that it has been recovered.

Not sure if this is the right sub-Reddit to post in, I had a gun stolen from me, about a year ago, it was taken from my truck. I made a police report, and spoke to an officer, as soon as I realized it was missing. Well today I got a call that a person had been arrested, along with a weapon, the weapon happen to be registered to me and reported stolen. I was asked to come down to the station and make a victim claims report. The officer said he remembers talking to me a year ago, and was glad that the gun was recovered. Now for the scary part, the gun has been used since reported stolen, the officer said I have a chance of getting it back, as long as it wasn’t used for a homicide. Now I just wait for ballistics to run some test has anyone ever dealt with a situation like this, and if so how did it play out? Thank you for reading. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/skvO75l

Learning Boxing for self-confidence?

My primary motivation for learning boxing is to feel more confident in general since I've had problems in the past with getting bullied, being shy, and having social anxiety. I don't intend to become a competitive boxer or anything like that. I care more about gaining confidence of being strong so that if someone tries to diss me because they think I'm weak, then I can easily ignore them since I already know I'm strong. I've already played plenty of other sports before such as tennis, but I still don't feel completely confident in myself if someone were to try to bully me

I've spent a few months so far learning the techniques for jabs, crosses, uppercuts, and hooks. However, I didn't get a chance to spar or block/parry much and I'm looking for a new gym

One of the gyms I took a trial class at focused entirely on defense drills like sparring, parrying, ducking, and light sparring. Only problem is that gym is a 30 min drive away. Another gym I took a trial class at is just a few minutes away. However, it was similar to most other gyms in that we just punched bags the whole time and there was no partners to work on drills with. Also, its a new gym with hardly any yelp reviews and the owner was really pushy in trying to get me to sign up

How important is it to learn to block and parry opponents punches well for my personal goals? Which gym should I look for?
