What to do when a knife is pulled on you

I (20M) was walking alone in a sidewalk the other night when I began to think about what I could do to feel more confident in my safety the next time I’m walking alone at night. There was recently a robbery near the place I was walking, where a knife was pulled on the victim.

I was thinking about my different options, and how to prepare in advance if something like that were to occur. Pepper spray, running, knife, etc.

Any suggestions?
