Hello. I need something cleared up for me. I had a conversation with a friend about CD in the state of Ohio. When I took my CCW class couple years ago, the instructors really drilled the point of law and what it meant for me to be able to shoot an intruder inside my house. The point was, that even though CD exists in Ohio, if I start shooting an intruder inside my house, I might be charged. The scenario was presented of me and my family being in upstairs bedroom, while the burglar is downstairs. I was told that I should AVOID to come down and confront the person and instead call the police first and vocally warn the intruder. Now, of course, if they start coming upstairs, then guns are blazing...The conversation with my friend was that my friend says as soon as someone walks in, you can shoot them. I argued that, yes, you can..you can do whatever you want, but you most likely will be charged since every single move you make in those couple seconds, will be scrutinized by 12 people in a jury box. I gave an example of guy stealing a bicycle from the garage. You open a door and see someone taking a bike hanging off the wall. They look at you and you just start blasting them. From my understanding, I could be in serious legal trouble, no? My friend says, it's Castle Doctrine, so it's a fair game.Any input you guys have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2ZBPGEd
