First post, first time gun buyer.

I’ve decided to purchase a handgun. Technically it’s not my first gun, I grew up on them but fell out over the years. I’ve been contemplating buying a home defense weapon for over a year and finally decided to purchase. So this will be my first “purchase”.I have some criminal history, drunk driving and disorderly conduct from 15+ years ago that I do not think (don’t know though) should disqualify me from purchase.Currently the purchase is for at home bit I will be looking into ccw at some point. In PA do I go to my local police station to apply or do I go to the city police station? I’ve been doing the some research online but it’s always better to ask those with the knowledge.
