What was your holster journey like?

I have been carrying since 2008. My holster selection and choice has come a long way since then.In 2008, concealed carry wasn't as popular and there really weren't many holsters on the market. At that time, most people used leather holsters. I remember buying from brands like Don Hume and Milt Sparks. My Milt Sparks IWB holster is beautiful craftsmanship but it was outrageously expensive at almost $200 per holster.Around 2010 or so, I remember the hybrid holsters coming out. Crossbreed was the original one most people liked these because of the mix of comfort and the fact that kydex doesn't compress like leather. There were some full kydex holsters on the market at this time but they were really uncomfortable and not very popular. I think this was around the time the AlienGear holsters came out.I ended up using my Crossbreed until 2014 or so when the leather got too floppy. Then I got a Comp-tac MTAC. This one is nice because you can switch out the kydex molds for each gun you own. This means you only have to buy one holster and you just buy a mold (for around $20-30) for each gun. The holster was comfortable but the thing I disliked is the screws would come loose. In 2016 or 2017, full kydex holsters because really popular. At this time I tried some random brands on eBay but they all had some issues. I eventually found out about Vedder Lighttuck and have been using it ever since.I'll be interested to see what kind of holster I will be using in 5 years. What has your holster journey looked like? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3npbhKR
