Road rage

Driving with wife and two young kids in car today and had crazy biker pull up on passenger side, berate me, and kick/hit my car. He caught us off guard and I thought at first he was joking or someone I knew trying to be funny. The look on his face and tone of his voice proved otherwise. The whole incident happened fast and he took off after taking it out on my car and me taking off. I keep thinking about the incident in my head…maybe he got the wrong car or there may have been a merge in the road where he thought I cut people off but he was at least ten cars behind me at all times. The guy pulled up on us as we came to a stop behind another vehicle and I had nowhere to go. I’m not a violent or confrontational person and I was trying to make out what he was saying without putting the windows down. I just saw red as I saw my young daughters face look scared. I know the light turning green and me being able to peel out was the best possible outcome. I seriously keep looking back on that and thinking what if he would have a few more seconds and would have broken the glass. He started reaching into his pocket which I assumed was to grab something hard to cause more damage….or worse. If I had to use force and drop someone in front of my kids I don’t know what I would have done. Guess I’m still in shock and can’t think why people would be so angry and have no respect for others vehicle. I own a motorcycle and ride myself but I can’t even relate to “biker mentality” everyone I talk to keeps bringing up. I’ve meet tons of bikers on rides and everyone I meet is of the same mentality.
