Common attacks by attackers (with weapons)

Hi so I got a question because I want to prepare just in case an occasion were to ever happen.

Let's say I am attacked by an average someone with a weapon for whatever reason (like a knife or a baseball bat or a crowbar or a pipe), what are the common directions of attack I would encounter from that person and would they try to combo or would they try to hit you once with a powerful strike?

And I want to clarify that I'm not asking how to defend (I mean obviously I'd try to run first, fighting is a last stand thing) more like what would these attackers normally do?
