March Constitutional Carry Update

We now have 18 Constitutional Carry states. We already have 2 from this year with optimistic movement on 3 more! Keep a close watch on your state and contact your representatives early and often.PASSED IN 2021Congratulations Utah and Montana! Montana also passed campus carry.RECENT MOVEMENTIN passed HB1319 in the house. The Senate Majority leader is a sponsor of this bill which gives me hope. Contact your senators!GA proved me wrong so far, and passed HB218 in the house. Contact your senators!TN's governor re-submitted constitutional carry again this session, and it's in committee for both chambers. Contact your reps here.TX governor Abbot mentioned becoming a 2A Sanctuary State, but didn't specifically mention Constitutional Carry. The previous House leader who sunk it last session is gone. Indiana had something similar happen and are moving along, so Texas has hope if the electric grid doesn't derail anything. My personal feelings are this will be a tough one due to the storm. Contact your reps here.AL had some momentum but failed a committee vote by 1 last year. There's been some support for another push this year. Contact your reps here.LA is a new addition to this list as constitutional carry was proposed. The governor is D but he signed some pro-gun laws last year, so we'll keep it here and track it just in case. The reason I don't have much hope is: Governors have been the biggest indicator of Constitutional Carry for the past 4 Constitutional Carry States (OK, SD, MT, UT). If TN and GA pass it this year, that means we will have had 6 elections to throw out anti-gun governors (5 R and 1 D) and specifically elect Governors who supported constitutional carry. That's why I'm a bit wary when we have an anti-gun R or even semi-ok-gun D governor. Contact your reps here.NO MOVEMENTSC never really got off the ground last session, but there's been rumors this year. Looks like Open Carry has been in the news more, and has a better chance of passing before Constitutional Carry. Contact your reps here.IA is R controlled but never really got anywhere. Iowa has a better chance of passing the amendment which enshrines the right to bear arms and says the judiciary must use strict scrutiny in all gun cases, so be sure to vote for it in 2022. Contact your reps here.OH is R controlled but seems unlikely. At least they got stand your ground this year. Contact your reps here.FL is R controlled. No new news. Please let me know if you're from any of these states and have more information. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3bIBy0Q
