do sticky/grippy holsters actually stay in the pocket for anyone?

maybe it's just because the pockets on my overalls are big, but i got a grippy holster today (not a sticky holster, here is a page for it) and, while it does work great for IWB, when i try it in my pocket, it just comes out with the gun, there is 0 grip against my pocket. i tried a pair of my summer overalls which have a tighter fit and smaller pockets and the exact same thing happened. if i used it like this, i would have to pull the handgun out and then pull the holster off of it, which i think is dumb and not how a holster should work. then again, some people carry unchambered and have to rack the slide, so maybe it's a matter of perspective. how is pulling the holster off real quick any more of a contrivance than racking the slide? i don't personally want to have to deal with either of those complications, but again, maybe it's a matter of perspective. i keep the thumb safety on, many people see that as a contrivance.i'm not sure if it's because the holster fits too tightly around my gun, or if it's an inherent limitation of the format. do you think this problem is solved by just finding one that's a little bit bigger that has less retention? i have other options for carry, but i'd like to make pocket carry work for me because it's the most versatile and most comfortable method i've tried. or perhaps i should find a different grippy holster that is wider so that it better fills up the space in my pocket? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3sCZDgU
