What kind of attorney and where do you find them?

I searched but reddit is being a pain. I apologize if this question is asked a million times already. But I see that we shouldn't talk to officers without an attorney. Is there any special kind of attorney, and where do you find them? I'm assuming that the time you need one is not the best time to be looking for one and it should be done beforehand?​Once you find an attorney, do you simply contact them and tell them you would like them to be the one you call if you ever get in a situation that requires one? Is their a retainer for something like that even if it may never happen? Or do you just cold call them when you need them? Should you have a backup in case that one is no longer available?
