Question about scheduling an appointment for applying for LTC in Mass.

I had recently called the Newton, MA local police department to schedule an appointment to drop off my application. I was told by them that they are "booked through January" they asked me for my name and phone number and said they would call me back. They did not offer me an opportunity to schedule an appointment beyond January at the time and so now I am waiting to hear back. Any advice about this?
