Flying with my husband’s pistol?

Hi all, first time poster here, but couldn’t find what I was looking for. I’m a CCP holder in VA and am flying to the west (all states I’m visiting have reciprocity). My question is, am I allowed to fly with a a pistol that isn’t registered in my name, rather, my husbands (we share same last name if that matters, and I do have fed ID verifying I am his spouse)? My G43, being a single stack, isn’t appropriate for the situation I may need it (read: bears).
