Hello all, I’m living in the UK and working an unofficial job as the “doorman” enforcing the new mandatory mask rule coming into effect in retail stores over the next couple of weeks.
My area isn’t rough but we have our moments and we’re (myself and the management) are expecting a great deal of backlash and confrontation from this being enforced. I’m going to be manning the door because other workers in my store hate confrontation or would be assaulted easily so I don’t want to put them in harms way.
I’m looking for free training from a professional course (not just some dude on YouTube) around conflict resolution and de-escalation with preventing a conflict being my primary goal but being able to defend myself as best I can being the secondary.
No weapons are allowed in the UK and the most in terms of protection I would need are stab-proof gloves/arm covers imo. I don’t think I have time to attend martial arts classes and I hope it won’t be as bad as I’m thinking but I’d rather be prepared than not need it over needing it and not being prepared. Any help is appreciated.
tl;dr I’m working as a doorman enforcing a pretty unpopular rule in a supermarket, im hoping that nothing will happen but I’m expecting conflict. Are there any conflict resolution and de-escalation courses available from a recognised source?
