I'm posting this in here for two reasons 1) i was carrying like always when the question was asked which makes it kind of funny 2) i find that this sub tends to have actual dialogue and informationSo, took my 7 year old in for his 7 year appointment. I coached him before I went in that if the Dr. asks about guns that I would tell him no and not to correct me. He not only knows that I have guns but he watched me put my carry rig on this morning. Right after the pediatrician asks about whether he eats meats and veggies he asks if I have any guns in the house. I answered 'No' with a straight face and a G19.5 and a spare mag stuck to my stomach. My son followed instructions like a champ and didn't say a word. If I told you his name you would probably spit your coffee on your phone b/c I clearly own gunsNow, here is a question....why in the hell do pediatricians ask about firearms? Our old pediatrician owned a gun store and was a veteran so she never asked but we moved so now it comes up with both kids.I get it that accidents happen with kids and guns but kids cut themselves with knives and get sick by downing cleaning supplies or medications and we aren't doing Q&A about how that stuff is stored or what is in the house. I have a buddy who lost his leg to a lawnmower and we aren't chatting about lawn mowing safety. No questions about bike safety even though I listed bike riding as one of his activities and lots of kids end up in the ER from accidents.I think the questioning started when Obamacare started. Am I the only person who gets pissed about this or do you all find it to be ridiculous as well? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2C6tGbT
