Anyone ever heard of a squib load that cycles the slide/action??

So my friend and I were having an interesting discussion, applying more towards pistols. And we were talking about the infamous Squib Load. It's the malfunction that you never ever want to have to come across and it most commonly happens for people that use reloaded ammunition, although I've heard that it's happened to some people out there with factory loads on really cheap or sketch brand ammo. Anyone ever heard of factory ammo induced squibs? But anyways.. The topic came up and I was telling him how there's no need to be paranoid about them because they're freak accidents that are pretty rare, especially since he doesn't shoot recycled ammo. I told him as long as he's not blindly addressing malfunctions and being aware/assessing his gun to pick up on any signs of a squib (the wisp of black smoke, weaker than usual recoil, not as loud of a bang, etc), he should never have to worry about having to blow his fingers off firing on a squib load. And then he brought up a really interesting hypothetical.. What if a squid load happens that still cycles the slide/action and doesn't cause a malfunction. Sure, assessing the gun should ring the alarms in your head when you FEEL that last shot wasn't right, but he brought up rapid-fire.. For when you are competing and possibly need to do rapid-fire point shooting or rapid-fire during a self-defense scenario, it wouldn't be as easy to assess a squib at that kind of rate.I personally have never experienced or heard of anyone going through a squib load that cycles the action and didn't induce a malfunction on a pistol. Have you? and what are your thoughts?Good talk, fellas. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2zURMp7
