Appendix carry

So I’m new to carrying and I need some pointers, I tried to holster it on the hip but it’s too bulky. Right on the stomach feels nice, I don’t really want it placed on top of my groin that pressure doesn’t feel nice. Im looking into different holster and maybe a new belt. I was also told about the Enigma system and I do plan on getting it eventually but for now any tips and suggestions are appreciated. I’m carrying a M&P 2.0. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/46Vx1hX

I really love their checkout system. It's so easy to find FFLs near me that have valid paperwork. I'm new to my state so this feature really let me pull the trigger on a good deal. For those who want to know I bought the M&P shield plus bug out bag deal. Comes with a few extra mags, a bag and first aid kit. The gun is also optics ready and has night sights. All at a lower price than the gun normally is.Are there any other websites that have a similar check out system? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/AzTIRex

I tried it out the other day and fucking hated it, sitting down jammed my firearm into my leg pretty hard and was not comfortable at all. Standing wasnt bad, I just don't see how it would be comfortable. Maybe I'm wearing pants wrong or don't have the best holster for appendix but I just don't see how any holster could be comfortable to sit with while carrying appendix. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/uLOF0od

Shirts

I keep running into the issue of shirts being too short (typical t-shirts). I’m 6’ 220lbs with a typical dad-bod build. I’ve gone as far as getting 2XL-tall shirts and still have the issue of reaching or sitting and exposing my CCW. I’m not the type to wear a button up shirt or secondary shirt throughout the summer. This issue really bothers me to the point that I consider no longer carrying in my waistline area. Any recommendations for shirt stores/brands/types that may resolve this? I don’t want to have to take all my shirts to a custom tailor just to CCW. Help!!! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/OZUCWFX

Why is dry fire practice important?

Hey all, I’m a pretty new firearm owner who will eventually CCW. I keep hearing that dry fire practice is very important. Forgive my ignorance, but I’m just trying to square the fact that when you dry fire, obviously, there is no recoil, which is what would be experienced in a live gunfight for your life. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/F6BJRcK

Posting so it's searchable and to combat the marketing. Why pepperball launchers are kind of dumb.

I've been working on this for a little bit after diving into pepperball launcher research. Most of this is probably pretty obvious to the subscribers here but I wanted to post something that would come up in searches as I haven't seen much realistic criticism of these devices. My apologies for the length. Please Stop Buying Self Defense TalismansI remember the first time I saw a pepperball launcher on the internet. I immediately recognized it as a repurposed and significantly upcharged paintball gun. I was outraged that anyone would spend so much for a low end Tippmann painted orange. I have no idea what relation the actual manufacturer of these guns has with the pepperball or similar resellers but I’ve seen other models rebadged as less lethal or law enforcement models over the years. Every time a new one pops up I wonder who the hell is buying these things? I could understand some utility for a law enforcement agency, but what purpose does your average citizen have for a shitty gun? Then a few months ago I started seeing the much more aggressive marketing for the Byrna launchers and things started to fall into place. These devices, like most self defense products, are intended for people who don’t do the think real good. What is a self defense talisman? Like a self defense tool, it’s any object that someone chooses to posses or seeks out with the intent of using for personal protection. However the difference is the talisman either isn’t effective, is unnecessary, or isn’t likely to be deployed at all. Tools can be talismans if they aren’t treated seriously as well so the line is a bit blurred. A talisman is an item that someone buys to feel better but doesn’t seriously plan on ever using. For example, an electric stun gun is a talisman because it’s tactically worthless. It relies on a low level of pain to deter an attack, however it also requires direct contact so it has zero range. Furthermore, pain compliance isn’t really a great way to stop someone from assaulting you. A stun gun is effectively an electric slap and nothing more. Yet people still buy them and give them to their girlfriends and daughters without ever giving much thought to how the thing would actually work or be utilized, if at all. An actually useful tool, like pepper spray, could also be considered a talisman if an individual keeps it buried at the bottom of their bag or otherwise out of reach, or if they don’t even know how to use it.So lets get back to Byrna and other pepper projectile launchers. What’s appealing about them? Well first and foremost they look cool and intimidating. That checks the box needed for people to consider spending a few hundred dollars. If it looks cool then people will find ways to justify it. Secondly its widely considered to be non or less than lethal force. So more people will be willing to utilize if they don’t think it will kill or seriously harm anyone. There is also an assumption that it’s basically pepper spray but better. The idea is that shooting the little pepper filled capsules gives the user better effective range. Another positive is that you can buy extra pepper capsules, or inert ones as well as extra CO2 and therefore you can actually practice with them. This is actually a very good thing. So it looks intimidating, it’s less than lethal, and it’s better than pepper spray. This sounds great. Except it isn’tThere are some serious flaws with the use case for this type of product. While touted as less than lethal this is still an airgun and airguns are often legally considered weapons, especially when used against another individual. Normal pepper spray is essentially a liquid, foam, or mist that you spray in someones face to irritate their eyes and nose. The pepper spray will irritate someone but the impact of the liquid won’t actually harm them. A pepper ball is a hollow capsule filled with irritant powder. When the capsule breaks the powder disperses into the air and works its way into the attacker’s eyes and nose, causing irritation. Both options dissuade an attacker the exact same way but the delivery method is different. The main criticism of pepper spray is that it won’t be effective 100% of the time and it takes a few seconds to kick in. And yet pepper spray is still the most direct method possible for delivering the spicy payload because it’s intended to fire directly at someones face, this avoids the step where the pepper ball needs to eject its contents into the air and then make contact. Unfortunately the pepper launcher cannot be fired at someone’s face. If you do this you’re firing an airgun into someones eyes and while that may not kill them it does stand a very good chance of blinding them or causing serious injury, sorry pacifists. Since doing this would drastically increase the risk of serious injury it wouldn’t be considered deadly force but it would likely be considered a cause of great bodily harm which is a higher step of force than simple pepper spray and wouldn’t be justified in the same situations. Byrna also sells these solid balls marketed as “kinetic” which are just projectiles that don’t break apart on impact. The idea is this would rely on the pain of direct impact to dissuade an attacker. I would imagine that these could cause even more injury than a misplaced pepperball. So depending on your aim and choice of ammunition, you may now have something that more closely resembles a firearm than you expected. The use of any projectile could be considered an unjustified escalation if the situation never warranted serious force. Now your pepper-spray-but-better is actually just a really shitty gun.Let’s get back to range, does it really matter? One of the things people don’t often consider is how they could justify shooting anything over distance at someone else in self defense. I don’t want to get into the details of legal self defense here since it really does depend on where you live, but generally speaking, you might be hard pressed to justify shooting someone with a pepper ball if they’re 50 or more feet away. If you’ve ever shot a paintball gun you’ll know that these types of launchers can be extremely inaccurate. The projectiles degrade and dimple over time which will cause them to hook violently in all different directions. This can be remedied by ensuring you replace the pepperballs regularly but at $30+ for ten rounds that could add up over time. A pepperball would be a terrible choice for very close range use or anywhere indoors because the intent is to fill the air with powder, the same air you’re breathing. A pepper spray will sometimes have splash back as well but at least you aren’t filling the area with a cloud of irritant.Next lets talk about the intimidation factor. These launchers are intimidating because they look like guns. The natural temptation is to carry one of these when and where you aren’t able to legally carry a real gun. However even the smallest of these launchers is still much larger than a typical handgun. So you probably aren’t concealing it. Since these look just like guns I hope you don’t plan on openly carrying it either. So when will you carry a Byrna launcher? Never. You Wont. There’s nothing convenient about an extremely conspicuous gun shaped object. Even if it’s painted orange or yellow, if someone sees you packing that thing they’re going to assume it’s a real firearm and report you. So maybe you think you’ll leave it in your car. But for what? So when you feel unsafe you can carry a conspicuously gun shaped object in your hand in public? I suppose you could keep it in a purse or shoulder bag as long as it was readily accessibly and you didn’t leave it lying around. This may actually be decent use for it since it negates the downsides of off body CCW by not being a deadly weapon. If someone ran off with your Byrna launcher in your purse they didn’t get a real firearm, just a widely available paintball gun. However, at least where I live, a loaded Byrna would legally be considered a dangerous weapon and ultimately prohibited. So even if your launcher isn’t technically deadly, it still may be illegal to carry.Reliability is also a major concern. These are items that you should use and practice with frequently. Not just for developing muscle memory but to ensure proper function. Any air powered launcher whether it be a paintball gun, pellet gun, or airsoft gun, can develop unexpected leaks over time. I wouldn’t count on a launcher to remain pressurized for more than a few hours, even if it technically can, unless you have some way to verify that it’s active. Some launchers don’t pressurize themselves until the first shot. This is a great design choice but it doesn’t ensure that the launcher will actually function when it is pressurized and if you haven’t shot it in over a year I wouldn’t be planning on it working at all. I don’t mean to say that these guns will be so unreliable that they will never work, but their rubber seals will degrade over time and unless you replace them regularly and test the launcher, you don’t know if it functions. You also don’t know how the launcher will fail. Some systems can handle a slight leak and will just fire fewer shots or with less velocity. Others may seize up completely. This is very dependent on the actual hardware and design. In the previous section I discussed how the projectiles can degrade over time. I’ve also read reports of them bursting in the magazine or the gun itself. While not life threatening this would be an extremely inconvenient situation. I also know for a fact that most of the magazines for these launchers will eject the loaded rounds fairly easily. Pepperballs are basically paintballs and these launchers are basically paintball guns. Magazine fed paintballs guns have this problem because the balls are well….ball shaped. What I mean is there’s nothing about their shape that inherently holds them into the magazine. A handgun cartridge is a cylinder. So when the magazine spring forces it up towards the top the feed lips of the magazine hold it inside. To get the round out of the magazine the mechanism pushes the top most cartridge forward to strip it out of the feed lips. A round pepperball goes into and out of the magazine directly from the top through an open port. While outside of the gun the pepperball is held in by a springloaded latch that blocks the port at the top of the magazine. When the magazine is inserted the gun itself will depress the latch and allow balls to feed. If you bump this latch while it isn’t in the gun all of the balls will fountain out of the magazine. This makes carrying spare magazines more complicated than you might think and if you reload under pressure there’s a pretty good chance you will inadvertantly hit the spring latch on some launchers. So what are some actual use cases for these launchers? The most obvious purpose for these launchers is for people who can’t have firearms. Whether it’s because they’re legally disqualified, not old enough, or because the red tape to ownership is too arduous. For this demographic these launchers could be an appealing option. The downside to this is that carrying and having them with you in public is very inconvenient and potentially illegal. In many locations where firearm ownership or CCW is very restrictive, carrying a loaded airgun is also restricted. In these cases, a simple can of pepper spray might be cheaper and even more effective.Individuals may also be attracted to these launchers for home defense. Again, the assumption is that you can’t or are unwilling to own or use an actual firearm in this capacity. Still, think carefully about how this may be used. I would rule out pepper rounds in my own home. That just seems like a poor idea and would almost certainly expose you to the irritant powder. You could perhaps use them if you were in a yard but I’d prefer to just go inside and lock the doors. You could however use the kinetic rounds indoors. I’m not sure how effective they would be but if someone was intruding I would utilize any deterrence I could, even if it was just a shitty gun. Yet for indoor home defense my mind does drift to higher capacity options that don’t need to be concealed.Another, and perhaps the most logical use case would be against aggressive or problematic animals. I can think of a number of hypothetical situations where a coyote or aggressive dog is too close for comfort. Sending a pepper ball or two in its general direction may be enough to convince it to leave the area. I could see just shooting a pepperball at the ground nearby being effective for a too curious animal, all without posing any risk or disturbance to neighbors. I’ve had several close encounters with coyotes where I wasn’t being attacked but was certainly uncomfortable and firearm would have been a poor choice. Still, even in these situations, a can of pepper spray likely would have sufficed and ultimately I just went inside and turned the flood lights on. So would a pepper launcher really have been necessary? Not really. At the end of the day these are interesting devices that have sort of invented a need to exist, a solution in search of a problem so they say. Pepperball launchers probably aren’t suitable for what you would expect and even if they are, pepper spray is almost always cheaper, more convenient, and more effective. A simple 2oz can of pepper spray is small enough for a pocket or bag, lasts for 3 years or longer, contains multiple shots, and is dirt simple to operate. Depending on your needs you can get it in a smaller or larger capacity as well. Hell, bear spray has been around forever and for good reason. For the price of one pepperball launching pistol you could buy 10-20 pepper spray canisters. That’s enough to last a few decades at least. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/kSeAXiN

Question about something that happened to me

Hey everyone, first time posting here!Last year I had a bit of a nasty situation happen, let me explain:About a year ago I was going home after teaching a class, I was cycling and someone cut me off. I waved at them and thought that was it, accident avoided. But no.This very large drunk man and his wife/kids followed me in their car to my apartment building’s door. The man then got off the car and started yelling at me to apologize to his wife for “flipping her off” or she would bash my face in. Keep in mind, I am from Spain and a small dude so I got scared shitless. I tried to explain I did not try to offend them but to no avail. Out of fear for my life I just did what he wanted and fake apologized to the wife.Case point, I genuinely thought I was going to get the beat up of my life. It was that exact moment that I started thinking about what would’ve happened if the guy had wanted to kill me, shoot me or whatever. My question for is, in the United States, would it have been illegal to defend myself with say, pepper spray? This has also made me realize why concealed carry is a thing. In Spain at least you cannot use a weapon unless the attacker uses the same weapon (stupid, I know) but in the US, could you have drawn your weapon to defend yourself?Apologies for my ignorance, I tried googling it but I could not get a straight answer. Having said this, any recommendations for a pepper spray? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/h70itj1

If you’re going to commit armed robbery, maintain situational awareness and don’t draw your weapon just for physiological value… or be ready to assume room temperature like this moron.

https://ift.tt/tKsik13 via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/eBLEUjg

Is throwing strikes to the face ur best option?

Or should you be targeting other areas also like the stomach, spleen area, knees ,etc? Typically most people go for the head but you might be able to catch your attacker off guard especially if they're not expecting you to punch somewhere else.

If you go for other areas besides the face you gotta makd your opponent think harder about defending themselves. I just know if someone is only aiming for my head it becomes predictable.

Printing Issues with P365

I turned 21 last year and carried a Glock 43 for six months before switching to a P365 with a TLR-7a light. I’ve been carrying it ever since. I’ve been rocking it in a Operational Industries (formerly Goon Operational) IWB holster. It’s very similar to the TRex Arms Gen1 sidecar. The holster is high quality and is comfortable to wear but it prints like no other even with the little tab built in.It’s so bad even with loose fitting shirts I’m contemplating selling the holster and possibly the light to get a smaller holster that I can position better on my belt. I’m a shorter guy at 5’7 and 175lbs. Never had printing issues with the Glock. Any recommendations on how to fix the printing or other holster companies? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/OLlAmBo

After 5 years my one of neighbors overly-agressive, terortial dogs out of there 5. Made me feel the need to draw my ccw piece but I didn't have to use it.

Long post if it's not acceptable sorry. The BackstoryWe live in the middle of nowhere, neighbors keep to themselves and we have never had any issues. Aside from the dogs. And I have never felt the faintest bit of fear or doubt around any dog before. But the beligan malinois, and the Great Dane mix just scare me to death at times. I can usually ignore them and they just attempt to harras, or protect what they see as there terrortoy I assume. Sometimes it goes way to far though. They have a total of about 5 dogs like this, a 140 ish pound great/Dane mix, a belgian malinois, 2 pitbulls, and a boxer mix. When you go to get to the mailbox by foot or car. If the dogs are out they will come down when you arrive at the mailbox. They come down the neighbors property which is right next to ours. The will stop at the edge of it 4-25 feet away from you depends on the particular dog.The behavior depends on the dog they display is typically teeth showing, tails up stiff, hunched down ready to pounce. Or barking growling ready to charge, jump bite, snapping . And they follow your car, or you walking halfway up the driveway on my property. always staying 3-6 feet away displaying the same behavior. They do cross onto our property multiple times a day to do this. I nearly lost a chunk of my arm to the 140 pound dog a few years back. Ducked arm back enough got lucky. And they do this every time we get the mail, or walk down the driveway 5 plus Years of it. And walk back up. Or when you are working on the driveway etc. Members of the household refuse to get the mail due to dogs. They have never put up a fence, underground eletric fence, or kept the dogs on there property. One of there dogs got hit by a car last year the 140 pound one. He made it without a scratch.Today's EventI walked down the driveway to get the mail about 7:30 figuring the dogs would be out. I got to the mailbox same behavior repates itself. Slightly different than normal though the belgian malinois looked more aggressive than normal. I walked back up the driveway and the dogs follow through the neighbors property. They stop on there favorite hill of gravel on my property to bark, growl, and be overprotective. I stop to look at the dogs as I usually do shake my head and move on. However today though the belgian malinois and the boxer mix stop on the gravel hill on my roperty. The belgian hunched down, all my body hair stood up, I sincerely felt like I was about to get mauled. Belgian lunges foreward 4 feet closer to me. I don't know the dog owner was up there when I walked down the driveway. Didn't see him usually don't see him they where 175 feet away apparently near the house. My first response was an attempt to save myself. For the first time in my life i felt I had to draw my ccw piece to possibly save myself from there dogs. The dog charged any came 4 feet and backed up. I now learn the owner is there, and they yell put that gun down now and walk away. While im on my property not theirs. After they said that the beligan relaxed a bit. I saw the owner at that point it looked like he had a rifle with him wasn't sure I put my ccw piece away and attempted. To move dog lunged at me again so I once again drew my ccw. The dog owner and neighbor said again put that gun away now "if you know whats good for you i won't say it again last chance" Dog relaxed again much more this time.So I put ccw piece up and say to the owner "I'm sorry but your dog scared the shit out of me again" the response was "I'm not giving you one more chance walk away I don't want to hear it" so I proceed to walk up the driveway and the dogs don't follow me. But I hear 3 rifle sots on 3 steel targets or when I'm 30 feet up my driveway. Confirmed he had a rifle with him. I guessed that was his warning to me to never raise my ccw against his dogs on my property. When I have never done that to them before, or ever felt the need to until now.My plansI plan to write the dog owner a nice sincere letter as to why i felt like i had no other choice to draw my ccw piece for the first time in my . With the past 5 years of history with there dogs in excurating detail with every single instance including today. And the older family member who is afraid to walk down the driveway, or to get out of the car to get the mail. And to preface the fact that this needs to be addressed immediately because nonthing had been done in 5 plus years. AndIn addition to that Im stopping by the sheriff's office tomorrow to ask about dangerous dog, or potentially dangerous dog laws in my state. And give them a rundown of the events. And our past history with the dogs, and the owner of the dogs. Because there are potentially dangerous dog ordinances state wide but the county or municipal authority has to designate a person or board. And to notify them in writing about it there is an appeals process for it.I would like to talk to the owner and try to arrange something to prevent problems that we have never had before. Or ones that have been ignored. If I could have the sherif come out and see if we can peacefully discuss it. Because I have to get the mail and I would rather not repeate this. It was extremely unpleasant and will only get worse at best. I don't think I'm in the wrong here and all my actions were warranted. And I'll do everything I can to prevent it from getting worse. But I really don't feel like the asshole for once in my life. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/rcTQXKF

Thigh holster recommendations for women:

I’m searching for thigh holsters for my wife, she carries a Glock 44 (before you say anything, I know. She’s not comfortable with any caliber larger than that yet and she’s not willing to move hesitantly) and is in need of a holster. I recommended that she get a regular IWB holster, but she doesn’t wear jeans or clothing of that sort that often, primarily dresses. So are there any ladies (or gents) who have knowledge on where to get one? Going to buy her a TLR8 so preferably one that will fit that. Thank you for your help. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/y2EOni1

SB-918 (CA)

After the win in the Bruen case, many blue states went scorched earth on CCW rights, CA governor Heir Newsom included. He and his staff wrote up SB-918 which for all intents and purposes would not allow you to take your CCW anywhere for fear of arrest, fines, prison, and losing your CCW for 10 years. https://ift.tt/Zuzmgvp Besides the usual backing organizations like GOA, GOC, and CRPA, my suggestion is to actually contact your local PD and CCW issuing party (Sheriff for me) and ask them their opinions. I sent an email to both my local PD and County Sheriff. Both emailed me back, and both called me to discuss the issue. In both cases I was thanked for the information, the email, and basically told that they have no interest in such and egregious power grab that is all but impossible for the CCW holder to adhere to, and for the agencies to enforce. The point is to contact your local PD and Sheriff. A simple conversation goes a long way. They may not be up 100% on all the new gun stuff coming down the pipeline - they usually have to wait until the Attorney General passes down the "official" version. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/F1g3NMi

What is the most reliable drum mag for concealed carry? I don’t want to waste time reloading should I ever find myself in a shootout.

What's first: 1 year of Taekwondo or Self-defence?

I am F25+. Lil' Chicken/egg question.

I really want to start martial arts, but I also want to visit self-defence course.

I can apply for self-defence classes that would last 1 year(a full year of self-defence). However, some time in the future I will also be taking 1 year Taekwondo class(possibly more)

The question is: Should I first take 1 year of self-defence or 1 year of taekwondo?

Would it be useful to first participate in Taekwondo classes before taking self-defence? Then maybe I can transfer some skills from Taekwondo to self-defence classes and have a better outcome with self-defence.

Or does it even matter?

What I need self-defence for:

I want Taekwondo as a hobby. I did aikikai aikido up until yellow belt, but it was a long time ago.

With self-defence I want to learn it for... Self-defence. I also want to be more aware of my body and to increase my reaction time(I heard self-defence classes help).

I look smöl and defenseless, so winning a fist fight is non-credible for me, but I am thinking self-defence can teach me to shield my body and escape holds(then maybe I won't be choked so quickly? win).

I have been in dangerous situations before in 3 separate countries, still wish I could have smacked them all into concrete :)

A homeless man with a knife threatened to kill me yesterday.

This occurred downtown in a large midwestern city, in broad daylight, on a fairly busy street. My wife and I were walking to lunch in a decent area—not somewhere i would’ve expected this to happen. I was carrying a Glock 43x AIWB.While crossing the street, a disheveled homeless man was walking in the opposite direction shouting and cursing. I tried not to look at him and pulled my wife towards the curb, giving him a wide berth and averting my eyes.As we passed him, he immediately turned around and started following us while screaming and cussing me out—calling me a cracker, fggt, motherf*cker, every name in the book. We kept walking a little faster, and I just kept trying to ignore him. Eventually he made a disgusting comment about my wife which prompted me to finally stop, turn around and look at him. At this, he screamed “I’ll kill you bitch! That’s why I’ve got this knife!”He had a small folding knife—maybe 2-3 inches—raised and pointed at us. Dude was about 5 feet away at this point. This is the part where I’d like say that I did everything right and executed a perfect DGU. But I’m not gonna lie—I almost shit down my leg.I sort of froze up—I grabbed my wife and instinctively started backing away, before coming to my senses a few seconds later and remembering that I was carrying. I put my hand on the grip of my gun, but the guy had already turned around and started walking back the other way, so I didn’t draw. We got to safety, and I called 911.Things that went well: - Avoided responding to the verbal abuse / escalating - Got out of there, immediately called 911 - Wife and I weren’t harmed, and I didn’t have to shoot someoneThings that could’ve gone better - I should’ve been analyzing/profiling the guy as we approached instead of ignoring him—big lapse in situational awareness. We had never been to this restaurant so I was looking at my phone for directions as we were walking towards this guy—this was an okay part of the city so my guard was down. Again, major lapse in situational awareness.Failure to recognize the knife. This was a MAJOR fuck-up, and it is a function of the other two aforementioned fuck-ups. I probably would have drawn as soon as I had seen the knife—and definitely would’ve as soon as he started making threats. Really can’t overstate how lucky I got here.I sat on hold for 5 MINUTES waiting to talk to 911 dispatch—pretty bewildering. Really hammered home the fact that you cannot rely on police to protect you.I did not handle this situation perfectly at all, but wanted to share my takeaways/lessons I learned in hopes that it might help someone else. North Portland Security Guard Shoots Man. What would you have done, if anything, had you witnessed this.

alternative for pepper spray?

Pepper spray can be considered a weapon under some circumstances in where i live and i was wondering if carrying an antiperspirant spray or hair spray does the trick in case i ever need it?

Pepper spray

Ok so I’d like to start off with if your going to down vote this I’d like a response for a reasoning to get other peoples views, A lot of people like pepper spray and carry it and it doesn’t really make sense to me having discussed the topic with some law enforcement and military members that have gone through the pepper spray course and some that have used it in real world scenarios , most all have said it is NOT a “stopper” people will continue to attack and some people have minimal to no effect with it and they have stated that pepper spray is most effective in relatively close distances and that the bad guy will still be able to close that distance. Also I’ve heard and in some instances agree with that the use of pepper spray can escalate the situation with pissing the bad guy off. For instance if U spray someone and they come back and u transition to a firearms wether you discharge it or not it can be looked at and argued you escalated the force by pepper spraying the person. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/jOqbzo5
