Anyone know of men’s short shorts that are designed for conceal carry?

Looking for a pair of shorts designed for waistband conceal carry. The shorter the better. Can’t find any anywhere and tired of always having to wear huge baggy shorts if I want to go out and carry. Thanks!Pistol I’ll be using for conceal carry is a HK 45 subcompact with a dual clip leather holster. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3qE59zM

Problems with Flashing Gun with Behind the Hip.

As the title says, I'm having a problem with behind the hip carry (8 o'clock, I'm a left hander), in that if I end up reaching, bending over, even crouching my shirt almost always snags on the grip of my gun. I really like this position, it is very comfortable for me and it has almost no print. That said, lack of printing won't matter if I'm showing everyone the gun. I found I can do appendix, though it's not the most comfortable and definitely prints more than behind the hip.Any advice? Is it just a "suck it up and deal with it?"Oh, if it helps, I prefer it canting forward, but have tried it even and canting back. I still have the problem even when I've adjusted it to sit lower.edit: BTW, I'm completely unsure about this flair, let me know if I should change it to getting started, mods. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3y7CWE3

Help me feel safe

I’m afraid of being harassed or killed

I texted this older person for quite some time, ended it not so suddenly but they didn’t expect it, even though I said I’ll do it numerous times, and they always talked me out of it. They liked me and I didn’t reciprocate, my intentions were clear and they stepped over my boundaries. The reason is because I felt manipulated and unsafe when I got to know them better, now I’m anxious that they’ll find me and do something bad to me. We’re not even on the same continent but I know that they’ll come here eventually because they sorted everything out from visa to plain tickets, and they said they always wanted to visit my country and city, even before knowing me. They know what school and city I go to, it’s a massive city but I’m afraid for my own safety. I have no proof of this person being a sociopath or psychopath besides that they became possessive and little bit controlling at the end of our days of talking, they stepped my boundaries of friends only relationship, even texted me through other accounts and new ones after I blocked them on everything, which is the reason why I felt manipulated and unsafe. No any major red flags during our conversations besides that and that I took everything with a dose of skepticism. They were allegedly in a very bad situation, their close family member died, that’s how they explained their behavior, they were also in quarantine and they saw comfort in talking to me during tough times. I already gave away too much, I’m so paranoid to the point of not being able to sleep at night from anxiety. I know that chances are slim, but still possible. I’m so disappointed in myself for being in this situation, I don’t know how I didn’t think rationally. I’m disgusted at myself because this is all my fault. Please help me, I need advice on what to do next to feel safer. I’m sorry for the long paragraph but I had to tell someone.

Vedder Holsters is the Chick-fil-a of the holster world

I ordered a Glock 48 MOS holster from them about a month ago and everything was perfect with it. About a week later I came across a Glock 43x MOS, so I sold off the 48.I thought about trimming the excess off the 48 holster to fit the 43x perfect but I decided to email Vedder and ask if there was any way I could send it in and have the excess trimmed off and how much would it cost. They replied within 24 hours and offered instead to replace the holster, completely free of charge. I sent it in and within a week.5 I have my new holster in my hands. They even called me today to check up with me and make sure everything is perfect on my end. What company does that?? I'll be buying nothing but Vedder from now on.P.S. In case they see this, all I ask is that you guys sell a little better quality shirts so I can give you more of my money via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3yaZmnK

Choke Holds for Self Defense: Effective or Nah?

I have always found chokes to be a great way to control someone in a fight and incapacitate them (nighty night) as needed. There are tons of variations of these chokes, but I try to focus on ones that are easy to hit and accessible from multiple situations, as well as ones that I can abandon quickly if needed. Always open to feedback, just do not be an asshole :)

What was your first day carrying like? Mine was not what I expected.

Based on lots of reading, I expected my first day carrying to be lots of nerves about if I was printing, having "one in the chamber", fighting the urge to fiddle with the gun, and on and on.It was not like that at all for me. I felt totally calm and in control. I didn't feel powerful like on a power trip, but I felt like I now was more fully equipped to handle anything daily life may throw at me. I liked having the gun on because it is a constant reminder to be a better person, which I know might sound weird, but it is a constant reminder that the best way out of many tight situations is a kind word. At times it even felt like a game, keeping a secret from everyone.Anyways, what was it like for you? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2U7UyRr

Common and safe carry practices do not make you paranoid.

After a conversation i had with co workers, i feel it might be a nice reminder to some newer gun owners that some of what seems normal to us is not "paranoid".At work today, it was fairly hot day and i work construction. So when i went for lunch i made a comment about how i "couldnt wait to get in my oven of a car". My co workers asked why i dont roll my winxows down. Note that these people are close friends of mine as well so im comfortable with them knowing i carry, some of them do as well. But nevertheless, when i told them i dont roll my windows down because i leave my gun in the car when i have to wear my toolbelt, they freaked out. Saying i was too paranoid to be carrying a gun.We then went on to other things like me keeping my handgun in my nightstand, locking my slide and storing my handgun out of reach when children are over, how i keep my gun attached to my belt when i use the restroom in a public place rather than taking it off.THESE PRACTICES DONT MAKE YOU PARANOID. Its a matter of taking the extra steps to ensure nobody steals your gun, nor that nobody access's it that shouldnt be using it, or taking extra precautions in the unlikely event you may need it (nightstand and bathroom)What are some practices you guys have that other people might call you paranoid for? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3dveOTY

I haven't had one, but The adjustment methods you use for the ratcheting belt seems to be ideal for me as I'm getting in and out in vehicles standing and sitting all day. I do use a g-code incog holster which is 1.75-in, If that changes anything. Self defense weapons or fighting techniques?

My question is for those who have some form of a CCW, blade, pepper spray etc: Is that your default go to for any serious threat or do you have a “level” that the threat posses that will make you consider maybe a proactive strike rather than drawing your sights on the attacker?

What Would You Do? - Danger on the Road

Before I begin, it should be known that thankfully nobody was harmed. The other night my friends and I were at a bar near our college town in Pennsylvania. I was the designated driver for those in my car, and the other DD drove the rest. The next day, I heard that the other car ran into some trouble. As my friend's car approached a stop light from about 50-75m away, they saw a laser in the road, which eventually traveled its way up the car door. My friend in the passenger seat is a bit eccentric, and he tried scrambling after the laser with his hands like a cat along the car door. As they were stopping at the red light, it went up his arm, towards his chest, and near his shoulder. When they finally stopped it disappeared briefly, but as the rear driver-side window of the car on their right rolled down, they saw where the laser was coming from as it pointed again back at my eccentric friend's chest. Apparently the laser was attached to a scope on an AR. My friend immediately threw his hands up, and the guy with the gun asked where he was from. My friend responded where he originally lived, and the other guy displayed his gun in the air and went "I'm from Atlanta." When the light turned green, the DD drove away, but realized they were being followed by the other car. He made 4 left turns, and the car followed them each turn. They drove for a few more minutes, and I can't remember how they said the situation ended. Regardless, my friend's car made it safely away from the other car.None of my friends in this group are gun owners, and I just got my concealed carry license this winter. The DD didn't drink any alcohol, but I did have two light beers in a long enough span so that I was absolutely legal to drive and not buzzed. My handgun was also in the shop getting ready to have night-sights installed at the time. Given this scenario, if you were the DD who had no alcohol whatsoever and also had a CCW, or if you were a driver who consumed two beers and had their CCW on them, what would be the right thing to do? Especially considering the threat, the environment, close proximity to your innocent friends, and the hindered likelihood of being able to draw and aim quickly and accurately with a clear shot? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3jooCTt

I’m not a big guy, and I am afraid for my family.

So as the title suggests I had a realization. I’m a smaller guy. 5/8 (1.73m), and weight about 160 lbs (72.5kg). I am unable to fight and have no clue how to do anything to protect myself. Where do I start? I don’t want to be a coward, and most of my fear comes from lack of experience. I want to exercise more for starters. My parents told me I am just being paranoid, and nothing will ever happen. I just can’t let that be the mentality, life is hardcore and I want to keep us here for as long as possible.

PSA: You are infinitely more likely to be in a situation that requires a tourniquet than a spare mag

For those of you that EDC a spare mag but don’t carry a tourniquet, you may want to add one to your setup. The chance of you needing a spare mag is about 0.1%. The chance of you or someone else being injured through an accidental discharge, assault, workplace injury, car accident, etc. is way higher, and a tourniquet could be of great use. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3qwx4l6

Unpopular opinion: For a private citizen's EDC a can of pepper spray is objectively more useful than a spare magazine.

I was going through some back episodes of the CCWSafe podcast and last month they had Chuck Haggard on to talk about OC/Pepper Spray (Parts 1 and 2).While a good chunk of what was said I would consider common sense they did rephrase a few things which bumped OC from an item I'd sometimes carry to something I'll always carry, even at the expense of a second magazine in an area where I'm often limited to 10 rounds. Most of the hypothetical situations you'll see on this subreddit revolve around an immediately recognizable lethal threat (i.e. a man with a knife or a gun). In less clear cut situations (homeless man screaming in your face about the lizard people) it's nice to have something stronger than harsh language but less lethal than a pistol. You can sometimes have much more flexibility to draw, present, and even deploy OC where a firearm would not be legally or morally defensible.OC also doesn't have as many legal restrictions that a firearm has. If you're going through a dark parking garage it's generally perfectly legal and socially acceptable to have a can of OC out at the equivalent of a low ready where having a gun out would likely get the cops called.Additionally, OC is sometimes permissible in a lot of locations where a firearm isn't. Even in workplaces with high security and a strict no-weapon policy it's not uncommon, especially for women, to have either have a a blind eye turned to pepper spray or few consequences if it gets spotted ('take that to your car' vs 'someone call the police').Finally the consequences of a bad call it are lower than a firearm. If I spray someone in the face with OC that I shouldn't of, the legal consequences are far less than if I brandished a pistol or shot someone that didn't deserve it.I'm curious what everyone else thinks. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3dGeKkv

Day 2 of concealed carry at my job that forbids it

I work at a gas station, and I've had plenty of encounters with shady people where I've thought: "I really hope I don't need a gun in a sec, because I'm kinda fucked if I do"I got sick of being forced to be in an environment I have to be to survive, while simultaneously feeling like I could be hurt or killed at any given moment and there's not a damn thing I could do about itI went and bought a S&W Model 10 revolver (not the BEST CCW probably, but it's been working for me) and an IWB holster a couple months ago, and a couple days ago I finally decided to say fuck it and just carry while I'm working, and to my surprise it's way easier than I thought, and I feel a lot better knowing if someone does try to attack me, I at least have a chance to defend myselfIt's absolutely disgusting to me that the company I work for tells you "in case of a robbery, just cooperate with the robbers", when a couple decades ago an employee at the very store I work at, was shot and left in the freezer AFTER he was robbed. Sorry, but I'm not gonna rely on the mercy and humanity of a criminal to protect myselfSo to anyone who just doesn't feel safe at their job, I'd recommend doing the same if carrying there isn't against the law. Who cares if your employer doesn't allow it, would you rather protect your life or your job? Get yourself a concealed gun and a concealed holster, practice carrying outside of work to make sure it's concealed enough, and then make it part of your work life tooObviously I'm not the first person to do this, and I'm not trying to come off as a "rules are meant to be broken" kind of guy. But I feel so much better that I'm finally doing this, especially when I've been wanting to do it for years. I just want people to know that your employer can easily replace you, but you only have one you. So protect yourself with your life via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3dlIDGB
