Training recommendations for first time gun owner planning to concealed carry.

I’ll be purchasing a Shield 9mm soon for the primary purpose of concealed carry and secondary purpose of home defense. I do not plan to concealed carry every time I leave the house. However I work a delivery side job most evenings and I’ve had a few incidents that made me uneasy. I intend to conceal carry while delivering once I am proficient with my pistol.I have basic knowledge of firearms safety. I know basic rules and have shot various pistols and rifles. I am confident about my ability to use a gun safely at a range for practice. I am not confident about my ability to concealed carry safely. That said, here’s my intentions. Is there anything else I should consider?Range training: though I haven’t purchased my gun yet, me and my brother split a 1,000 round ammo purchase because it was a good deal. I will put all 500 rounds through this gun before I ever concealed carry.Holster training: I will only practice holstering/unholstering to begin with at home with a weapon that is unloaded and without a magazine to begin with. I will wear the gun unloaded but holstered around to house until I am used to it being there. I will practice drawing and dry firing. Before practicing drawing and shooting with a loaded gun at a range I will take a concealed carry safety course.I will purchase a safe to secure the weapon when it’s not on me. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3imGmvM
