Claw - effective when using an Ulticlip and no belt?

I have a claw and pull-the-dot loops on the AIWB holster for my compact. Would a claw also be effective on a subcompact holster that uses an Ulticlip when worn with no belt? via /r/CCW http://bit.ly/2CPSFwe
