It's the beginning of the year, have you rotated your carry ammo recently?

Carrying a Pistol Purchased Through a Private Sale?

Recently picked up a second hand Gen 3 Glock 27 for CCW. I know the guy I purchased it from and don't suspect him of any sketchy business. He purchased the gun from an individual at a gun show. I don't think he has any info on the private seller. I do have a bill of sale with copies of LTC permits. To add a little more context the guy is 70. Might only be around 20 more years. Is this not the best option for a CCW? I've looked it up on hotgunz.com and nothing comes up. Does anyone else carry a gun purchased through a private sale? Is there any other way I can find out about the legality of this pistol? I'm in Texas btw. Thanks! via /r/CCW http://bit.ly/2F1L7JS

What should I do after I shoot a wild animal in defensive?

Let's say I'm hiking, or walking in a park. I happen upon a wild animal be it a bear, racoon, or whatever, and it attacks me or chases me (or my dog). After I shoot and kill it in defense of myself or dog, do I call 9-1-1 and report it, or is that dependent on whether the park is populated where others could have seen or heard the shot? via /r/CCW http://bit.ly/2QhS9vZ

Does krav maga give you a false sense of confidence?

  1. You train against multiple attackers. You know, they will stop once you are on the ground. Nobody hits hard.
  2. "You should run away if you can." is the mantra

Now at the one hand you are told you could defend yourself, on the other you should run away. What exactly does that tell you?

To me that's dissociation and it tells me that the teachers themselves know that Krav Maga does not help me survive. Why should you practise Krav Maga if a spinning class or running triathlon is better?

To me, running away from a fight is like letting someone rape you. Does anyone tell a rape victim that at least it was alive?

Not fighting or getting hit and getting out without retaliating fucks with your mind big time for years. And if you do fight and do win, the long lasting confidence boost cannot be replaced by any talking. Because then you can handle a similar situation better.

But if at the same time you think "I will die, I should run away" how does that help with anything?

What do you think, does krav maga give you false confidence?
