Are there any good stock triggers?

I’ve seen people talk about how bad their Glock, FN, M&P, Sig, etc triggers are. In fact, it’s all I ever see pertaining to triggers. I’m genuinely curious as to what kind you guys are using to warrant such criticism. It’s all on Reddit and GunTube. I’ve never understood it. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/wubkGaq7p

Can I shoot teens jumping my child?

I wanted to know what would be the consequences for shooting a bunch of teens (15-17) jumping my child (14). Would it be considered self defense or would I get charged for murder/attempted murder?

I have a two hour private pistol lesson . What should I focus on and explain what I want from the clas

I have taken 5 intro practice and intermediate class, I work 6 days a week and have no time to go as much as I would like and with 8 people it’s obviously not as individual. And I want as much critique on my shooting and teqnique so when I’m there it can be acknowledged so when I’m home dry firing I’m not building bad habit. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/VTRAtnC1E

Does anyone else have a county in their state that’s unfriendly to concealed carry?

There’s a county next to mine that if pulled over will hold your handgun after they pull you over for you to pick up at a later date from their office. Regardless to if you’re from that county. It’s a major college county that’s very very left leaning in ideas and practice. We all just know if you’re going there. Best to leave it at home. It’s a hassle to get your handgun back. My uncle had been pulled over there and the officer (in a once in a million chance) gave him his handgun back at the end of the stop. Except it was taken apart and had a scratch on it. Wondering if anyone else has a county like this. I’m in oregon. via /r/CCW https://bit.ly/3g4JSuy

Should I start carrying my knife?

TLDR: was atracked by a much larger guy than me walking after work last night

So I (5'10" 165 lbs male) was walking to the bus, smoking a cigarette after work last night, at about 2 AM, and this guy(probably 6'4" 220 lbs male) asked me for one, and it was the only one I had, so I told him that. After I said that he asked, "Can we share it?" Which I said no. So then I started to walk away, but he came up from behind and grabbed me by the back of my jacket, which I told him to let me go or I'll hit him, he didnt let go, so I punched him in the throat, which he then tossed me on the ground and then left.

So my question is, do you think I should start carrying the butterfly knife I have around? Or do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Is some SD common sense & natural reaction?

Hopefully I don't sound too stupid asking this question and I guess it's pretty broad to. Obviously you should learn proper technique and train but I was wondering if certain tactics you just naturally do on instinct against an attack. Would be nice not to think about the moves you're doing and just react.

P365x or G43x Mos?

So over the past few weeks I’ve kinda been leaning towards picking up a G43x Mos. Before I make my decision, I wanted to see what else was out there. I keep stumbling across Sig P365x videos, and each of them have all said very positive things about the 365x. I’m not a Glock nor Sig guy. In fact I’ve never put a round through any firearm made by either company. With that being said, my main goal right now is to find a range that offers each weapon as a rental, so that I can shoot them both and compare and then come up with my final decision. I know there’s plenty of people that have probably owned them both. For the people that did, I wanted to know what you did and didn’t like about each firearm. Thanks via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/349VQQK

How to learn self-defense

Hello, I want to learn how to defend myself and I’m not sure where and how to start.

First of all I’m 15yrs old M, going to the gym 6 days a week and i would say I’m really fit and good looking for my age but to be honest whenever the trouble is about to happen I just get scared and don’t know what to do. I’ve never been in a fight (I only trained karate when i was 7-8 for about a year) and i think thats the reason of my fear.

Now as I get older i realize that i can’t live with a fear and i need to change something.

I want to learn how to defend myself but i can’t train martial arts and go to the gym at the same time ( a) bcs I don’t have money to afford it b) bcs I don’t have time). But i have a punching bag at home.

So if anyone can give me any advice it would be helpful.

What is the best hit and run away move?

Obviously running is your best bet but maybe there's a move you can do just enough to throw them off balance and get the heck out of there. Something to distract them like making them lose their balance, temporarily stunned by a punch, pepper spray, I don't know. Not sure if it's really a good strategy, your attacker might be provoked to chase after you to but anything that gives me an edge to run away.

Homeowner shoots intruder

Evansville, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville Police say a man who tried to break into a home was shot by the resident. They say it happened around 3 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Kimber Lane.Police say a woman called 911 because a stranger was inside her fence, yelling at her dog, and trying to break in through the sliding-glass door. She told dispatchers she yelled at the man, but he pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot her. They say the woman ran upstairs to get her fiancé for help.Police say he ran downstairs and saw the man throwing things and the glass door. They say the resident grabbed his gun and yelled several times for the suspect to stop.Police say the suspect then grabbed a shovel and shattered the door. That’s when they say the resident fired one shot at the man.Police say he walked away from the door, but officers found him when they arrived. They say he wouldn’t obey commands at first, but finally complied.Police say they found he did have a gun.He was taken to the hospital with a non life-threatening gunshot wound. His name has not yet been released, but will once he’s out of the hospital.Police say he faces several charges. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3GZZX0m

Shield Plus trigger question

I bought it without trying one out and I find the trigger pretty poor. I'm not a pistol guy and what I believe may have happened is that since I am so used to AR Geiselle triggers that I'm just spoiled. I'm just really underwhelmed. It's a good weight though for a duty gun though as I prefer at least 3.5-4.5 pound triggers for defensive weapons. I've read that Stryker fired pistols tend to have crap triggers which is what led me to believe all of this.I thought y'all might know. I've cleaned it after disassembly per the instructions though I went with the If It Slides it Gets Grease and just CLP for the other lube locations. My only other experience with a pistol was a Glock subcompact and it seems similar to that though a touch lighter though it's been a while.I'm just now beginning concealed carry and man are pistols alien to me. If it was practical I'd have just been walking around with a slung SBR AR since getting out of the Marines. Thanks y'all. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3qTGpFz

First Time Leaving the House While Carrying

I have had my conceal carry for a while now. I finally found a good holster and found a comfortable position to carry in. I was surprisingly not nervous. I was wearing a coat but even with the shirt I was wearing, you couldn't see it. I know this is probably nothing to a lot of people in here but it was a small victory for me. I hope to make this a habit in the days, weeks and months to come. I am not sure what I was scared of. The gun is there if I need it, that's it.Oh yeah, my conceal carry is a Springfield Hellcat with an Amberide IWB KYDEX Holster. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3tLwFPo

Brainstorming physical challenges and wheelchair carry

My wife is wanting to get her LTC. She’s a high-level paraplegic and uses a wheelchair to get around (and honestly, it seems like she never sits still). Her disability and the wheelchair create some challenges, both physically and in terms of concealed carry, and I’m especially interested in feedback from wheelchair carriers and shooting instructors who work with paralyzed shooters. One of her challenges is that, because of the level of paralysis, her grip and hand strength is diminished. We’ve tried out the S&W 380 EZ, which she can rack, but has to pas the grip to her off hand so she can pull the slide with her stronger hand. She’s a little leery of the 380 recoil, but I think that would pass with practice. We’ve discussed something like a Beretta Bobcat 21a with the tilt barrel, but of course .22 is not ideal for defense. In terms of carry, she thinks she wants to rig a holster under the seat of her chair, but she has rods in her back and I question whether she has the flexibility to bend and quickly access a weapon there. She seems reluctant to consider a fanny pack. She has a backpack she carries on the back of her chair (great for concealability) but that’s probably not ideal for quick access, since I know I never can find anything she asks me to retrieve from that bag of holding. Her interest is what got me moving in the CCW direction, but now I’m sorted and I want to figure something out for her so we can get our LTC together. Thanks… via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3rCRNoa

G43x MOS or G48 MOS?

Let’s get this out of the way - I know this is a question that’s been asked over and over. I’ve read most of those threads, used handgunhero, and watched an unhealthy amount of YouTube. Now that that’s out of the way, here’s my situation:I currently have a G17 and a G42.One is great for deep concealment and comfort and the other sits on the other end of the spectrum. While I’ve toyed with the idea of just carrying the G17 AIWB, it doesn’t seem practical without special clothing. I usually have the G42 on me 99.9% of the time due to its comfort and conceal ability. Why I carry the G42? I believe the ballistics between 380 vs 9mm is statistically negligible and more than enough for its general everyday purpose of concealed carry/self defense. I am a security contractor and have worked with federal LE. The G17 is my main work gun. I would say I am more than proficient with handguns.ALL THAT BEING SAIDI am researching my next EDC and I want bigger than the G42 but smaller than a G17. A G19 is too close to the G17 and the G43 is too close to the G42. I want a gun I can carry 24/7/365 from shorts/tshirt to winter. I’m pretty set on Glock, but open to suggestions other than Sig as I didn’t enjoy the 365s (already have a 226E and previously owned a P938 9mm). I would prefer a RDS as well. This brings me to the dilemma- G43x MOS or G48 MOS (or does it fucking matter)? I carry AIWB with the occasional strong side carry (mostly for work). I am 6’ 195lbs and decently in shape. Concealment is my priority here as I am not concerned about Glock reliability. TIA via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/33wT6Nz

How can I learn how to fight properly?

I am not a strong person and I really don't want to continue life like this anymore. I did some boxing in high school but it was difficult to pick it up and be good at it. However, I know that I have to learn how to defend myself and my family in case anything happens. The world is getting too dangerous and I can't be weak. How can I learn how to fight properly? Holosun introduces their SCS (Solar Charging Sight) for CCW. What do we all think?

This article summarizes what we know so far, plus some first impressions from Aaron CowenTl;dr:CCW-focused sight with no user-replaceable batteries, just a solar panel that charges a capacitorAuto-adjusting brightness factors in things like ambient light and WML usageSCSs are made weapon-specific.according to Aaron Cowen: "The real game-changer here is that the SCS has an internal battery that is recharged anytime the solar cell gets light. Add that to the multiple light sensors as part of the auto-adjust only brightness, and you get the smartest auto-adjust optic on the market. Low light, no light, and smart enough to adjust for WML and rapid lighting condition changes. As far as battery life goes, I’ve had an SCS for a year without being able to “kill” the battery, sometimes going a week or more with the optic stored in a safe. Pull it out, it’s on, bright, and ready to carry. So yeah, it’s pretty neat. As for durability and “duty rated” you’ll have to wait for a video drop."It's really, really tinyPersonally, such a ridiculously small pistol RDS seems like it would be right at home on any of the micro compacts, which sounds great to me. I'm a little less enthused about the auto-brightness idea, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and see how it performs. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3GHY7RK
