Hello,My spouse used to be suicidal once. This was over a decade ago. But we plan to move together and get married. I brought up the topic of having a gun safe in the house for self defense purposes. She was a bit uncomfortable with it and brought up her history with depression and near-suicide. She emphasized this was a long time ago but is uncomfortable with the idea of a gun in the house at this time. I feel like bringing in a gun at all, even though she is in a much better state right now, would be irresponsible of me. Id be afraid of the (admittedly unlikely) scenario of her having a highly distressed moment at one point years in the future and potentially making an impulsive decision. I thought about maybe years later putting in a gunsafe and only letting myself know the combo. But right now I have no plans for a gun in the house because of her history. I was wondering if anyone had a spouse like this and how they handled it. I would like a gun in the house for our own self defense at some point, but I'm not really sure whats the best approach here. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2Q3oTvG
