Saw the light and bought a gun belt

What can I say but wow! Everyone always says get a good gun belt because it makes a world of difference. I didn't really believe it.I had a good leather belt that was pretty thick and I could carry pretty comfortably in. I only had issues with aiwb when trying to bend over or bringing my knees to my chest.I bought a blue alpha gear low profile belt, and I'm astonished. The claw works even better than it used to, and positions the weapon even better. I can literally bend in just about any position possible and even bring my knees into my chest. If you're naive like I was and think your belt is good enough to get by, you're fooling yourself. Go try a real gun belt, and you'll never look back. Many of you will read this and say, "yep he was stupid, should've got a gun belt sooner!"TLDR: get a gun belt; it's life changing via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2PqwRQo

Trying to walk with a big stick.

Any tips out there for a little dude (5'7 155lbs) trying to conceal a G17? I recently bought one for home defense but I want to carry it every now and then. Being on the smaller side makes this tricky, so any advice on holsters, carry position, clothing, ect. would be helpful. At this point I feel like my only option is a shoulder holster underneath a heavy jacket. I do have other CCW options, so its not the end of the world if this doesnt work out. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2Rhn7VU

Sub-compact P320 for CCW

Hi there. Was considering the Sig Sauer P320 sub-compact for my EDC. Fingered it in a gun store and they let me pull the trigger, and I found the trigger pull very nice. I like its feature set, notably its small grip (which I can get barely get my 3 fingers onto), its capacity of 12 rounds, and its barrel length of 3.6". Feels very nice, and the dimensions sound great. 4.7" height, 1.1" width. Was curious to know if there were any in this subreddit carrying the sub-compact p320, and their experiences with it. I am also open to holster suggestions for the sub-compact P320. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2Q08kyI

Which pistol to choose, and how to conduct myself in a dangerous neighborhood?

I'm currently in the process of moving to a much more dangerous neighborhood than I currently live in - for financial reasons.I'm considering purchasing a pistol, and I'm only willing to choose between these two weapons (I'm not looking for anything too deadly, just light, reasonable, concealable protection):SIG Sauer P238Kahr P380I'm curious which one you would recommend, and why you would recommend it.Also, I'm concerned about how I should conduct myself when carrying. Most of the crimes in my neighborhood are robberies and assaults (not shootings or stabbings). I don't want to get trigger-happy and land myself in prison for the rest of my life. But at the same time, when you see someone following you, or you're walking past shady individuals who keep casing you... how are you supposed to act/warn them? How close do you let them get?Obviously I'm going to take a couple of classes if I get my permit. But I still feel it's rather ambiguous how I'm supposed to conduct myself, when I know I'm surrounded by potential criminals. I've already had quite a few people attempt to rob me (when visiting the same area), and you essentially just have to rush back to a safer area when they start projecting their intentions.Thanks. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2PqllEB

Hey y'all ! I [25f] am moving to a bad neighborhood. Firearms are out of the question... What are non-lethal alternatives?

I own bear mace, but don't, for instance, have anything to secure a home with. Due to severe depression, I've promised myself I wouldn't purchase a gun. My place will have a deadbolt on the front door and the windows are two stories up, but my friend freaked me out, the other night, by scaling the facade of our bff's apartment building and breaking into his balcony door to win a bet. Kid's like Spiderman! What are your go-tos for home security? What are good habits to practice on the street?

I feel extremely cagey, going outside, especially on a series of blocks between me and my work. This city is not known for good response times from cops, and due to an old injury, one leg is quite weak. I probably couldn't outrun a man with a plan. Wat do? One friend recommended LifeAlert and I laughed, but honestly, not a bad option. 😂
