February Constitutional Carry UpdateWe currently have 16 constitutional carry states. I predict we'll get 3 states passed this year, and 2 are already close. The rest have had little movement. Legislative sessions typically take months to find the right bills and get them through the right committees, so keep a close watch on your state and contact your representatives early and often.RECENT MOVEMENTMT's new R governor ran on passing constitutional carry, and now MT is a full R-Trifecta state so the governor will likely sign it. This passed the house already, and just passed the Senate committee vote. It's on to the full State Senate to vote, so contact your State Senators here. Follow the specific bill HB102 here. My thoughts: This one is looking great so far and also allows campus carry, double whammy. This should be the first new constitutional carry state of 2021!UT's Governor Cox said he would sign constitutional carry, and the bill just passed the Utah House. It looks like it passed the senate committee vote and now moves to a full Utah Senate vote, so contact your State Senators here. You can track HB60 here. My thoughts: This one is looking great so far too and we're on track for at least 2 new states this year. I also liked that in the link above, Kansas measured what happened after the permit was removed and permits went down, but classes went up. I think if anything thats another piece of evidence that a permitting system is a barrier to entry for poor citizens to exercise a constitutional right, as I believe most of us here know. They still went to train just didn't need to spend the time and effort jumping through government hoops.NO MOVEMENTTN had the governor himself propose a constitutional carry bill. However, there's barely been any recent news on it since the Governor's COVID emergency session has derailed normal proceedings. Contact your reps here.TX had a little momentum last session before then-House leader torpedoed the bill, because of a "threat" (he lied and said someone threatened his family at his door, but the police cam footage proves Chris McNutt didn't even get to his house lol). The house leader then resigned due to a different scandal. After not losing ANY seats to Democrats in 2020 with Trump on the ballot as they feared, I have a small amount of hope for some pro-gun legislation this year. No official moves yet, but there are a few suburban reps pushing for it and the Texas Freedom Caucus just named it as one of their top priorities. It's on the list for this session, but as 1 of 8 priorities. With COVID continuing this is uncertain. Contact your reps here.SC never really got off the ground last session, however, Rs increased their seats and there is some talk of passing constitutional carry. Contact your reps here.IN is R controlled and has had issues getting constitutional carry out of committee because of donations to key members from Everytown (you read that right). However, those 2 problematic members are out now, and there's rumblings that IN could move forward. There are 4 bills on the docket so this one is still early. Contact your reps here.AL had some momentum but failed a committee vote by 1, after Sheriff & police pressure. But I'm including them a bit higher on the list since they at least GOT to the commitee vote. Contact your reps here.IA is R controlled but never really got anywhere, including them since they're a trifecta who also had some surprising 2020 R wins. Iowa has a better chance of passing the amendment which enshrines the right to bear arms and says the judiciary must use strict scrutiny in all gun cases, so be sure to vote for it in 2022. Contact your reps here.OH is R controlled but seems unlikely. At least they got stand your ground. Contact your reps here.GA had momentum last year, and the governor ran on constitutional carry. I put them lowest because I believe the career politicians will get really scared after they flipped in the presidential and Senate elections. Pro-Gun shit is probably dead in Georgia for the time begin and I haven't seen any news showing otherwise. I hope they prove me wrong!FL is R controlled. No new news. I don't see this happening personally but good luck. Please let me know if you're from any of these states and have more information. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3pDysB0

Got a VP9 for AIWB concealed carry, need help choosing a light bearing left handed AIWB holster.
I’ve picked up an HK VP9 and am looking at getting a holster for it. I want to mount a light on it, (either a streamlight TLR 1 or TLR 7A), and the options I have narrowed it down to so far are the TREX ARMS raptor and side car, ANR designs light bearing IWB with claw, tier 1 axis slim and xyphos V2, (can’t get left handed axis elite for VP9), and the JM custom Kydex AIWB Wing Claw 2.5 light bearing. I want it to be comfortable and a good quality holster that conceals well. Im 6’1” and 165lbs with a flat torso, so unfortunately I don’t have a chest to poof my shirt out. Any advice and or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2MHKv1S

Looking for a specific type of light bearing holster for Shield and FNS9c
I've been carrying for about 15 years and have a pile of holsters I dislike. I've found a few that I love and at the top of the list is this Stealhgear SG-X with the twin clips. I've not had good luck with the single clip variety. The problem is that I want to add lights to my CCW guns and all my favorite holster mfgs don't make light bearing models for my guns. Anyone else make holsters like this?https://ift.tt/36vrxm1 via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/39zsUC3
Possibly Moving to Missouri...
I am currently in UT and enjoy very few gun and knife restrictions and quite liberal freedoms. We can even carry in public schools with a CCW. However, the average income in UT is 30,000 and the average price of a home is 350,000. My wife has family in MO and suggested after our ties to UT are up, we move out there for the cheaper housing, greener environment, and to be near her family. While I have no special connection to MO, I am not opposed to it. I have perused USCCA's site regarding MO gun laws, as well as the AKTI (American Knife and Tool Institute) website regarding knife laws. Overall, MO seems to be relatively friendly to the 2nd Ammendment with even prohibited locations carrying the weight of a trespass unless repeatedly offended (to my understanding). Are there any members here who live in MO and can share their opinions of the place in regards to laws concerning weapons and defense of self, others, and home? Any personal experience, or opinions regarding precious and future governers and legislative bodies would also be welcome. If its gun friendly now, but wont be in 5 years I'd rather not be stuck there.Thank you all for your help in advance, I hope you have a wonderful week. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3oGNqoU

Does anyone have experience with getting an Oklahoma CC license?
I finished every step and got the application sent off last Monday. I know the OSBI says 60-90 days, but I’m hoping that it comes sooner. Wondering if anybody has experience here in Oklahoma, and how long it took? Thanks! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3t9ks4i

I have gotten some questions about the ring (Thyrm Switchback) on my handheld flashlight. I decided to make a video showing how it is a great solution to use your handheld while still maintaining a full 2 handed grip on your handgun. Yes the gun is unloaded with no magazine in it.

Bargain Baller. Nebraska - 51 Days
State/County: Douglas County, NEProcessing Time: 51 days from applicationGear/Planned Setup: Taurus G2C, OLight PL-Mini 2 ValkyrieTraining Completed/Scheduled: Completed - Inner 10 Weapons & TrainingThoughts: I love this pistol. After years of offering less than desirable weapons, Taurus finally stepped up their game and designed this flagship pistol. It's light, easy to operate and take down, and best of all it's super reliable. The only gripe I have is that it's lacking optional aftermarket parts that come along with Glock, Sig, etc. I really enjoy the magnetized charging system for the Olight and it's a perfect fit for the gun, but I may move towards something else with replaceable batteries for reliabilities sake. Overall, I'm very pleased with this setup and I love the low cost even more.https://ift.tt/3owVTLe via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3tm2LyG
Fn 509 c-MRD. The "do everything carry"
I had the pleasure of buying the fn 509c-mrd and it has now become my goto "EDC". A few notes on it because it is rarely seen and talked about. It comes red dot ready with a supply of different red dot mounting plates. It comes with a full picatenny rail that is standard. No proprietary b.s. it comes with suppressor height sights ready for co-witness with the optic of your choice. Also comes with 2 back strap options and a crowned barrel. Oh also it just looks sexy. The round capacity is great with the flush mag at 12+1 and the extended with pinky base pad at 15+1. The biggest selling point for me.... THE TRIGGER. very short take up with a very defined wall, crispy apex ish break and short reset. In fact the trigger on this thing is so good I prefer it over my apex job on my m&p. I decided to go with this as my edc over the sig 365 or the 365xl for a few reasons.1 grip angle, stippling and comfort in my hand. I wear a large in gloves and with the flush fit mag the 509c fits perfect. I can maintain a full master grip easily, something I can't do on the 365.I'd urge anyone looking for a new ccw to check one out if you can find one locally, it's worth searching for one. There is limited YouTube videos out for it but colion noir has a good first mag review on it. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3ay0UOL
Pro-carry bills on the move in Jefferson City, MO
HB52 allows carry on public transit with a concealed carry permit.HB212 prohibits employers from prohibiting you from keeping a locked firearm in your vehicle.HB52 (Firearms on Public Transit) and HB212 (Firearms in Motor Vehicles) will be heard by the House General Laws Committee on Monday, February 1st at 6pm. Be there if you can, otherwise please write and call the committee members. You can also use this link. Looks like there are also links to submit testimony: HB52 HB212 - though they're being heard at the same time so either link will do, just click the checkboxes for both bills when submitting testimony. There is also the pair of 'Second Amendment Preservation' act bills that are an anti-commandeering play to make the feds use their own resources to enforce federal gun control laws that violate the US Constitution and / or the Missouri Constitution.SB39 (Second Amendment Preservation Act) was approved by the Senate General Laws Committee.HB85 (Second Amendment Preservation Act) was approved by the House General Laws Committee and has been referred to the House Rules - Legislative Oversight Committee and a hearing will be held on Monday, February 1st at 2:30pm. Be there if you can, if not, write and call the committee members. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2YtV3UP

HAMMER OR STRIKER
Sorry if this is redundant! Currently my EDC is a Sig P365 however my compact and full size handguns are both hammer fired. While I shoot them at the range I don’t really train with them. I am considering buying a Wilson Combat EDC X9s, sub compact single action hammer fired to replace my P365. Virtually the same size. I realize that training is critical for any EDC. My real question is carrying a hammer vs. striker EDC.....pros & cons???? Safety especially? Either one will have one in the chamber???Thanks!!! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3ovYBjR
Carrying gun in someone elses name (NC)
My girlfriend got her ccw recently and does not own her own gun yet. I recently got handed down several of my dads as he is shooting less these days and A couple are appropriately sized for her to shoot and carry. The guns were purchased by my father, given to me, and I am considering lending her one to use for the time being till she finds one she likes.Anyone know about the law/if there is a law on this?I did a quick google search but couldn’t find anything glaring. Thanks in advance. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2YtqheL

I carry a glock 35 4thG. I have a AG holster looking for advice on a new iwb holster. Please read my post.
So I’ve had my Alien Gear holster for close to a year and it’s comfy I like the draw and it conceals well. I have one issue and it’s that the holster doesn’t stay where I put it. I prefer to have it at around 3 right on my hip but through the day it slides back to 4-5 and I gotta pull it back up I’m tired of this. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3pCb1Ik

CCW when you go home with a date?
Hey y’all,This may be a silly question, and I will try to phrase this without sounding like a complete tool.As a guy in my early 20’s dating is pretty common. But my concern is what to do if I go home with someone? What should I do with my gun? Should I let them know about it if I’m staying at their place? Where do I put it while I sleep?I know this all seems trivial, just would feel extremely uncomfortable leaving my gun unattended in someone else’s house.Anyway, thanks y’all. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3r3U7Th
Comfort advice needed
Hey guys. I have had my concealed permit for years now and to be honest I almost never carry. I have always had an issue with comfort that just makes me not want to carry.I have tried appendix carry and just found it to print too much due to my stomach pushing the grip out too far. So I moved to carrying iwb at the 4-5 o’clock position. This has virtually no print unless I’m bending over which is great. My real issue is the belt.I have a wilderness tactical instructor belt that I wear all the time. I bought it to carry but it is comfy and convenient when not carrying so I have always used it for that. However when I do carry it is terrible. It holds the gun great but no matter how high or low it sits it hurts my hips like crazy. After about an hour of wearing it (even just lounging around) my hips are red and tender. If I wear it below my hips the bottom of them start to hurt. On the hips the middle gets sore and above the hips the top get sore. Is there anything I can do to help this issue? I want to carry more but the discomfort make me shy away from it. Or is this something you just get used to with time?Details Wilderness tactical instructor belt 5.11 apex pants Black arch iwb holster at 4 o’clock Glock 19 via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3ae1L6N
