Question regarding Arizona non-resident carry

Quick background bit of info, I currently live in California, legally own a handgun but don’t have a CCW permit. I will be staying with family in AZ for a while until the COVID-19 situation de-escalates.Here’s the question, can I concealed carry in AZ as a non-resident and without a permit? I realize that this probably seems like a dumb question but AZ is one of a few Constitutional Carry states which allows “anyone over the age of 21...and who can legally posses a firearm to carry in most public places” I have seen Arizona non-resident CCW permit applications online but is this necessary under AZ gun laws or is the permit just a bonus for shared reciprocity reasons? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3bImNK4

Holster G19

You guy were great on the belt advice. I am going nuts trying to pick a holster. My CWP should be here next week. I’m a big guy 6,2 240. Looking to probably carry at the 4 to 4:30 but not 100% sure yet. I have been looking at the vedder light-tuck and the the alien gear shape shift. Certainly not married to either one. Please give me some advice. I know it’s personal choice. I just need to know which one would be a good first purchase. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2USBkvH

Best pepper sprays?

What is the strongest and most effective pepper spray? Not just the brand but the actual product from the brand. I'm looking for home use so I don't need it to be a really small kind or anything but if need be I could bring it out. I'll probably get one for my girlfriend too but that still wouldn't be much of an issue. I've read that the spray is better and more effective than the gel or anything else so I think I'll go with that but I'd be open to other suggestions if they among the strongest. Don't mention getting a gun because I don't want one right now. Also don't mention having pepper spray isn't good for self defense because it is and if you can incapacitate someone for a few minutes while you're able to follow up with different measures then that's all someone needs. Currently I'm looking at the Defense Technologies First Defense OC Stream 1.3% Solution Pepper Spray, Fox Labs 5.3M SHU Pepper Spray, and the Sabre Red 3-In-1 Magnum 120 Pepper Spray. However I've also read that a OC/pepper spray and OS/tear gas combination could be stronger and more effective than regular pepper spray. So if anyone has any suggestions and knowledge about which one I should get, please comment and let me know. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2Xa251N

Riverside County, California - What to expect at the initial appointment?

Gun owner and recently applied for CCW, appointment on April 10th. I'm curious what to expect as I haven't gone through the training as of yet. Is this just a formality or is there a need to perform tasks with the firearm? There's surprisingly limited information regarding this. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2WV2rZT

What gun to buy for longevity/self defense, will eventually carry?

Moved to California (yes I know) about two years ago from the south. Had cc license and multiple guns but sold all when coming here due to legality reasons. Made huge mistake and could have kept but didn't realize back then. I now want to buy a one and done gun for home defense and potential carry in the future but would like this to be with me for a long time. I am thinking Glock 19 or Sig p229 as I like the compact form factor and do not want a full size. Have owned many Glocks and S&W along with shotguns and ARs but struggling now.Any advice? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2xFKHa8

P365xl vs Glock 19

I’m curious about other people’s opinions. I have a regular p365, my dad has a Glock 19. Unfortunately I don’t have identical holsters for them, but I’ve shot them both. I’ve also put a few rounds through a p365xl. Admittedly, I haven’t shot his or any other Glock 19 in years (read: since I actually started getting interested in handguns and developing a proper grip, trigger pull, etc.). I’ve been considering sometime down the road purchasing a Glock 19 MOS, and comparing the dimensions and capacity it would seem though 0.3” thicker, the Glock 19 is shorter when the 15 round magazine is inserted into the p365xl. I’m basing that off of the height with the magazine in the regular p365 which is 5.5”. Of course the Glock is also 0.5” longer, but that comes with more velocity using the same ammunition, and more options as far as viable carry ammunition. If anyone has shot the two side by side, owns them both, or just has an opinion to throw out there, I’m eager to hear it. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2wPPfuw

Best holsters for Sig P365 that you can think of what help!

Hi guys! I have a crossbreed holster and Vedder holster on the way. I want to see if you guys think I should get an alien gear shapeshift 4.0 for my new sig p365 or the shoulder holster. I also heard good things about Galco. I don't have much experience with leather holsters though. I haven't heard of too many people talking about the shoulder holster and I'd like to get into them for the winter. I like options and don't forsee getting rid of the this gun ever. Delaware County PA Sheriff (LTCF)

I am considering applying for my LTCF in Delaware County, PA (outside Philly). My Sheriff stopped taking new applications until at least April 27th due to CVOID. I sent an email with the PA Constitution demanding him to reopen on an appointment basis and that he was violating the Constitution ...no response. Anyways, what is required by law on the application? I see questions about my reason for a permit, my Employer, their address, their number, my 2 references, my hair/eye color, and height/weight. Is there a way to give bare bones info and still pass? I also have a clean record. I feel like writing on there that half these questions are none of his business. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3bGxPPM

CZ SP-01 Carry

Hey all, I've been carrying for a bit over a year, and have only carried striker pistols up to this point (Sig p365 & g19). I recently ordered a light tuck from Vedder for my CZ SP-01, and have been thinking about carrying it to see how I like it. I have the manual safety model (no decocker), and am wondering how others carry theirs. Cocked and locked, or half cocked, no safety.I'm used to having no safety on my carry gun, so I'm leaning toward half cocked, just wondering if hammer snags are something to be worried about in that position.I'm not against carrying it with the safety on, but the light tuck does expose the ambi-safety switch, and in that case I'd rather have the heavier trigger pull.Thoughts? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3bFHIx4

Keeping a Firearm in the Glovebox?

Is it bad to keep a pistol/revolver in your glovebox during winter and summer? I'm worried about the 100 deg. summers and 20 deg. winters expanding and contracting the metal so it warps and becomes otherwise inaccurate or unreliable. Thanks for any guidance. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2QUMYW0

Why you should always clean your guns after shooting.

I've been searching for the last 2 hours trying to find the video, but I just can't. If someone else can chime in with a link, it would be appreciated.I was watching Live PD and one of the clips involved a man being pulled over after shots were fired into a residence. The police found .40sw shells at the scene and this guy was driving a vehicle that matched the vague description of the one that was seen at the shooting. He gave them permission to search the vehicle (don't ever do this) and they found a .40sw handgun. At this point they've got a gun in the right caliber and a vehicle similar to what was seen. But the officers sniff the chamber and can tell it hasn't been fired and just smells like lube. I haven't cleaned my pistol since I shot it Saturday, and you can definitely still smell it.Had he not kept his weapon clean, he very likely would have gone to jail that night. He would have had expensive lawyer fees and could have lost his job along with all the problems loss of income brings. This could have been a life ruining experience for him.TL;DR:Always clean your guns the first chance you get. Don't give consent to the police to search your vehicle. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2UtIuHV

Does anyone actually conceal a g19 in 2020?

To my friends here: I have been trying to find the right combination of belt and holster for years, but haven’t found the right comfort spot for my g19. Now my LCPII sits in the pocket more often. I generally have to conceal deeply for work.Has anyone been able to carry this long term? Can I have some tips please, if you have? Thanks for your time. I am also diligently searching through old threads since this is not a new topic. Many have recommended AIWB with a light tuck, or steel core belts. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/33UESSm

Story time. Pretty tame, feel free to delete.

So I took my daughter(6) out hiking through the woods behind our house and over to a new housing development breaking ground nearby. We live out the outskirts of town and my daughter and I were about a half-mile away from our neighborhood and about as far from the farm houses that surround us.Well, given the fact that I haven't actually had a chance to put any ammo through the shield I got a few weeks ago I figured I'd go ahead and use one of the dirt mounds in the new construction as a backstop.Told my daughter to cover her ears and try and see where the casing landed and popped one off into the dirt.Anyway, we went on with wandering around the new housing development. My daughter wanted to climb all the "mountains (piled up dirt from regrading) and about 3 minutes later our neighborhood cop drove by. Didn't stop, didn't slow down, just drove past and parked near by.I wear IWB which I cover up with a "tall" untucked polo so... you really can't see it for shit even if you were looking for it. Also our state recently went constitutional carry so I wasn't worried about not having any license.I'm sure it's just a matter of someone hearing the shot from the neighborhood and calling it in. I didn't really expect it to be an issue but I was still puckered pretty hard.Anyway, about 5 minutes later we ended up heading home. The cruiser was still sitting kinda nearby but our cop didn't get out to come talk to us or anything. Was really surprised by how manageable the recoil with the shield was. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3dDFbW8

Utah non-resident turnaround time.

I sent out my Utah non-resident application on 2/14, and they cashed my check on 3/3. Nothing else since. Does anyone know their typical turnaround time? What to do?

Hi I am currently 20 years old and have been my whole life 50kg. Today I was robbed on the streets by a person. The problem is that our city is full of robbers and the chance of this happening again is high. They may have knifes, no guns usually and the biggest problem is that they are gypsies. I am no racist but particularly here where they are also drug addicts (most of them) if you fight with one of them usually a bunch will come later for a revenge. So idk how to protect myself and what to do. Any advice will be helpful. And no I can't currently leave the city but I will eventually!!!

Practice with G-sight?

I just found my WMA range near my house is going to be closed for renovations which i guess is good but I'm not gonna have anywhere to practice for a while. Curious if the community has any strong opinions about training with the G-sight training laser/app? Would i be wasting my time and money? Should i just practice dry fire and work on not disturbing the sights? Is there any other training method/equipment you've found particularly useful? Any and all wisdom is welcome. Hybrid Holsters and Vedder light tuck

I am on the market for a new holster for my Q4 Tac mounted with a RDS. I was originally looking at the Protos-M but after reaching out to Black Arch, they don't make it for my handgun. Which is unfortunate because I love their two or one clip design and the things I have heard about comfort hasn't been matched. After seeing the amazing reviews about the Vedder Light Tuck, I want to ask those of you that have it, is it comfortable enough to use as your EDC with a proper belt? That being said, I've also read that the Stealthgear ventcore is extremely comfortable. I was hoping to gain some insight on what people think after you've had it for a while. Is the material and holster holding up and as comfortable over time? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3at6kZZ
