Training with my brand new glock 19.4

It’s a waiting game...

I had my cpl in Florida but when I moved to Michigan they made me redo my NRA / USCCA training class. Now I’m officially at 2 weeks and counting after submitting my application. Definitely sucks to have to wait to carry... hopefully it won’t be much longer. So while I’m waiting I Just bought a bodyguard 380 for pocket carry. Have a few different holsters so far, my favorite other than a pocket sleeve being a kydex iwb holster from Foxx Holsters. My main carry gun is an XDSC .40SW. I’ve read a lot of hate on here for the XD line but I prefer them over glocks and the shield line. (I have a glock and a shield as well I just don’t like shooting them as much as my XD) I have that in a crossbreed super tuck which is definitely the most comfortable iwb holster I’ve tried so far. Going to pick one up for my bodyguard soon. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2EAyJzT

Records: 75 percent revoked Illinois gun licenses ignored

https://ift.tt/2EAbvtz police issued a report late Thursday in response to questions about the gunman who fatally shot five co-workers at a suburban Chicago warehouse last week. The man, Gary Martin, used a gun in the Aurora attack that he never should have been allowed to have because his firearm-owners card was revoked in 2014....It seems that Martin passed two different background checks in order to purchase his firearm, despite being a convicted felon. Add in the number of people who simply ignore their local laws and it brings to question how effective any anti-gun campaign could possibly be. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2Vn3mhw

How do most holsters ensure the firearm will not fall out

Will be a CCW holder soon, wondering what prevents the gun from falling out in something like a Vedder light truck. Could it potentially fall out if you did something like a cartwheel? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2EA4EAj

Undershirt LTC

I just started carrying this Friday after receiving my LTC in Texas. I can’t help but notice every time I get home and remove my holster my gun has lint on from the undershirt. Is this common for you guys and if not should I buy new undershirts via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2T15qiO

AIWB carry in tier 1 agis; worried about ND while driving or sitting?

So I've got tier 1 agis for my glock 43 and my glock 19 and with both guns I always have this fear that somehow my body movements or the seatbelts are going to push the kydex just a little too far and cause it to go off. I've been carrying AIWB for about 2 months now and it's been a recurring fear of mine.Is this even possible? I dont know or any way to tell if the trigger is being manipulated inside the holster. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2Nw2Cnw

I guess this is one of those situations that everyone hopes never happens, but I was glad to be prepared.

I don't know whether personal anecdotes are welcome here, but bong story short, my dog and I were attacked by 2 large pit bulls in my driveway yesterday. I was bitten on the arm and my dog got beat up too, but thankfully no serious injuries to either of us. Unfortunately, one of the attacking dogs didn't make it.I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir, but I credit training and building muscle memory to saving me and my dog from a mauling. Looking back on it I can see that a lot happened in about 10 seconds, but having certain things already drilled into my head (a clean draw, muzzle awareness, trigger control, observing around and beyond the target, protecting my firing hand and arm, etc.) meant that I could dedicate my brain to decision making (the legality and morality of shooting, shot placement, being ready for follow-up action, etc.).The takeaway for me was the importance of training. You can never train enough. Stay safe out there! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2GKrNCt
