Question about disclosure to LEO in states that it is required.

Are we also required to disclose that we have a permit for CCW even if we are not carrying at the time of the interaction (ie:Traffic Stop)? Or are we only required to disclose when we are actually carrying? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2qsgNhk

Knives are dangerous, especially in close quarters: "Two men stabbed to death on Oregon train trying to stop anti-Muslim rant". Also, anybody in Oregon: can you carry on a commuter train?

Can I posses a handgun in church, with elder permission, for security detail if I'm 20?

I expect downvotes and ridicule but I really need help on finding resources and law on the subject. My congregation has experianced a lot of growth in the past few years and as a result, they would like to start upping our security. A few weeks ago there was a gentleman who interupted the service being agressive with the preacher and members. Luckily, nobody got hurt and the police where able to take care of the situation but before he left, he said, "Before this is over, you will ALL know who I am". Needless to say, the congregation is calling for more secuirty detail and as a result, the elders have asked me to participate. Several of the men on security already carry but they have permits and are 40+.As many of you all know, security that isnt armed is just another target. My question is can I legally carry a handgun without a permit in the church with the permission of the elders for the protection of my congregation and can you provide resources to confirm that? Background about me. I am 20 years old and will be turning 21 in 5 months. I know exactly what I am doing with a handgun and am really proficient with it. I know how to conceal and keep it from printing. I shoot three gun competitions and have developed really good trigger dicipline and adrenaline managment. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2saAmuS

M&P Shield 40 to 357 SIG

Has anyone had any experience with the Shield 40 converting to 357 SIG? I was looking to buy a Glock 32 or 33 in 357 SIG because I am a sucker for less popular caliber sizes, but with these rebates going on I almost can't resist a Shield. You guys got any input? Thanks. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2say5A5

H&K VP9 SK, I am in love

Visited one of the local gun shops today and help an H&K VP9 SK for the first time and all I can say is WOW! This gun feels so natural in my hand that's it's kind of amazing. I've never had a handgun grip fit my hand so well before. So, now I know what the next gun will be that I buy. May even trade a Glock for one who knows. And my son bought his very first handgun today as well. For a starter gun he chose a S&W SD9. Nice gun. He likes it, and it only cost him $275 total. He doesn't have his carry permit yet but will be getting that soon. I'm sure he will eventually transition to a compact gun for carry. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2qwByrm

Handgun suggestions?

I am thinking about my next purchase for a carry piece that is also pocketable, bonus points if it is available at Academy ($50 gift card). Thinking a 5-shot .38 or pocket .380Ruger LCP/LCP2: cheapest option. (Taurus TCP is cheaper but Taurus semi-autos = NOPE)S&W Bodyguard .380: don't need the laser sight option, seems a littler more substantial and easier to shoot. Also S&W rebate is about $50 off.Diamondback DB-9: interested but I know nothing about it. Looking for anecdotal experiences.Taurus 85 Ultralight: I know its a Taurus but I have a few buddies that have had good experiences. The way I see it if the cylinder lockup is good with a particular one, why not?S&W 637: outside how much I want to spend even after using a gift card.Anything I'm missing or other ideas? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2s33dCk
