What makes an IWB holster comfortable?

I just got a P365x and I am looking for a comfortable IWB holster. My research has me totally confused so I’m asking the Pro’s…YOU! I plan to wear it around 4-5 o’clock and I don’t want an extra mag attachment. I realize it’s very personal but I’m hoping to avoid making numerous mistakes…thanks! Do I want the smallest footprint like the Tulster Profile? Do I want to get a holster for the XL length so there’s less tilt at the top (a have a little extra weight)? What about a hybrid like The Buck holster so the backing is leather? How about belt straps vs clips? Thanks!!! Happy New Year’s to all! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/E6ceZ1D

Hill People Gear Bag - how to prevent gun from bouncing?

I'm thinking of picking up a HPG kit bag to wear while running and biking (for my Sig XMacro w/ TLR7A).To minimize bulk, I'm thinking of getting the Dale Fricke trigger guard holster that they recommended instead of going the velcro holster route. However, this makes me unsure of what size to get.I'd like to get the Medium size, but it's much bigger than the Sig XMacro, which makes me wonder if the gun will bounce around while in motion. How do you keep it so the gun doesn't bounce around? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/iQnGgUO

Carrying G19 Mag “Restricted LE/GOVT Only”

I bought a Gen 3 G19 at auction a few years ago and have been using it for my ccw. The backup mag that I have been carrying says Restricted LE/GOVT Only. I’m not worried about legality of owning it, but if I were to have this mag on me or use it during an incident, would I run into any legal issues?Location: Missouri via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/z04ZyQf

Thoughts on the SIG P365X vs. the P365XL? And thoughts on pocket carry?

Looking at getting either the SIG P365X or the P365XL. I've been told before that the XL shoots slightly better (longer barrel = less snappy) and that the longer slide makes it easier to wedge for CCW, but I've also been told that the longer barrel's benefits are almost negligible, and that all X holsters are XL holsters (and vice versa), so the longer barrel being good for "wedging" it into your waistband is null.I'm also looking for something that I could "pocket carry" with, like in a jacket pocket or something of the like. I have heard that the X is still good for that (but a little on the larger side), and that the XL is just a tad too big for that. Obviously, I would get a holster for pocket carry purposes, but I was wondering if that would be as necessary if I got one of the manual safety models that are offered with either the X or XL? And what do people think of manual safeties on the 365 series?I did try the standard 365, and it wasn't as small as I thought it would be in my hands, but it was just a tad too short in the grip for me to comfortably grip it. The X and X grip was perfect for me.I'm 6'2 at 190lbs with moderate to larger-sized hands if that matters. I have also CCW'd with my Glock 19 before, but I find it a tad too large for carrying in lighter clothes, as it prints(also anything about magazine capacity here is null as I live in a magazine restricted state and can only have 10 rounds) via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/hBICFgf

Handgun Shooting Range bag that doesn't stand out and has dividers? Also, cheap safety glasses that won't break earmuff seal.

I'm maybe thinking more like a gym bag but with a hard bottom and dividers. I just don't want it to look like something that could be carrying valuables (I live in the city). Especially since I'm a new shooter, waiting for my CCW license to arrive and won't be carrying it loaded until I'm very comfortable.I ordered a Osage River Tactical Range Bag but the dividers don't really stay up and I'm not a fan of all the velcro. I do like the size (13.5x10.5x7.5) and would like to keep it under <80 if possible. Also, need cheap safety glasses that won't break earmuff seal. I picked up a cheap pair of Radians Coveralls at a bass pro shop but then realized they won't work because they'll break the seal on my earmuffs (Walker's Razor Slim Electronic, arriving later this week). I do like the "Coverall" aspect of it so there's less or no gaps.Thank you for any advice, very excited to finally livefire my Hellcat OSP after, for the last few weeks, reading/watching a lot (mostly on reddit and youtube), dryfiring and taking a class. It's been a journey and I will continue to research and learn everything I can to one day become a marksman. via /r/CCW https://www.reddit.com/r/CCW/comments/zwyerk/handgun_shooting_range_bag_that_doesnt_stand_out/?utm_source=ifttt

Rust on Ruger LCR

So I've had this gun for maybe 7 months and my entire front sight post has rusted. I carry IWB in a kydex holster. I don't sweat too much, PA winters and all.Has anyone else had this issue? The barrel is blemish free, just the front sight and the worst of it is near the hex screw that holds it on.First daily CCW, is this a common thing? Will Ruger send a front sight post for it to me or will I have to send it in/buy a post and replace myself? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/ZMUs3Xz

DA pocket carry safety concerns

Do any of you carry a DA snubnose in a soft pocket holster? I just picked up an LCR for the purpose of pocket carry, and though I’ve read that it’s safe to carry this way I can’t get over the anxiety of using a soft holster. I know the DA trigger is harder to engage but I’m worried that it’s still possible. I suppose I’m just too used to striker-fired guns. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/kt95zec

Pretty upset at the moment

So just 20 minutes ago I had a dude pull a gun on me while on the highway. I grew up around gun violence so I’m not scared I’m just so angry! This jerkoff cut me off and then proceeded to stay along side me pointing his gun at me while we talked shit and I’m angry that i sold my own CC a few months back because I’m going thru a rough patch with my PTSD and anxiety. I figured I didn’t need it while I’m in an already fragile mental state but now after this I wish I hadn’t! Or I don’t know. I’m just upset and confused.

Looking for recommendations between a few holsters for someone who does a lot of heavy labor.

To start off I'm a very skinny guy weighing 110 pounds and 5 foot 6. I carry a glock 23 Gen 3 appendix in a versacarry holster with a leather belt from them but I find that it often either prints too much or is uncomfortable, plus I don't like the fact that it's aiming at my junk. So, I've been looking at some belly band holsters even though I didn't like the idea of them at first but I'm starting to want one. I'm thinking between the Bravo concealment and the comfort-tac. Now along with this, I live out in the woods and do a lot of heavy work out there and I want something that'll keep it protected, with that being said though, I want it to be concealed; not outside the hip for when I have to go out and about.I like durability and not having to worry about stuff breaking and getting worn out. I'm looking for something that I can carry with either my shirt tucked in or out and that prints the least, and is most secure. I also want to be able to exercise while carrying. It's also a bonus if it's comfortable. Thanks in advance y'all. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/mYcqNvz

Florida to California car trip

Title sums it up pretty generally. Coming from central Florida and going to Redding California. Taking i10 all the way outvwnd just wanted to hear from everyone that lives in these states or has experience with them.I have reciprocity all the way to California but I'm just more wanting to know the small details that might be overlooked with state laws and concerns of usage as I'm traveling. Once I get to the edge of Arizona it's going in a locked pelican unloaded because ya know.... California. Lol I'll be carrying my Taurus TCP since I didn't get a change to buy 10 rounders for any of my other guns. Torn between the “Big 3” in Light Bearing AIWB Holsters. T Rex, T1C, and PHLster.

As the title says, I’m torn between the Big 3. Budget/ lead time is of no concern, I have a cheap-ish Kydex option for me right now that’s serviceable. My CCW daily is a Sig P365XL w/ the Romeo 0 and a soon to be added TLR7-Sub.My biggest goal is concealment, secondly being comfortability which is obviously subjective. I’ve seen some rigs people are using with sidecars and like some cushion pads behind it instead of wedges. The Sidecar as an option isn’t paramount in my decision making, I just know it’s popular/ common and obviously built in with the TRex/ T1C.Looking for honest opinions, if anyone has experience with multiple of these, or maybe introduce me to something I’m not familiar with. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/VDiBEJS

A Christmas Story

I posted a few days ago about a scary encounter I had on a bus locally here in Washington State, you can read it through my profile. I realize I only alluded to the fact that the man accosting me had an object that I couldn't make out in his pocket and I don't think it was a cellphone.Regardless as always when posting on CCW and reddit in general I learned a lot and got a wide range of opinions but mostly support. The greatest support came from user u/ohio_sheepdog who not only gave me the best advice (to do what I could to remove myself from the situation) but also bought me a pair of gloves. A pair of gloves that are the best I've ever owned, that got here in a few days time, and that will still allow me to use my firearm should the need ever arise.I moved from Florida to Washington state with my fiancΓ©e who broke up with me about 6 months after the move due to our differences regarding covid. I am across the country from my family and in a rough financial situation. I'm working two jobs, going to school, and doing so without a vehicle which unfortunately forces me to be exposed to both natures elements but also the criminal element that is far too common on the streets here.I didn't truly understand what I was getting myself into with the cold and just as I was starting to give up this kind person took the time and money to give me something to help keep me going.I want to say a sincere thank you to Ohio Sheepdog and to reddit. I also want to say that I am truly blessed to have the privilege of life and the ability to protect it should the need arise.Happy Holidays everyone <3 via /r/CCW https://www.reddit.com/r/CCW/comments/zoakix/a_christmas_story/?utm_source=ifttt

Persuade me on a $100+ AIWB rig

Until recently I've been carrying my Sig SP2022 at 3 o'clock, which works well for me, even with the larger pistol. However, I recently acquired a P365xl, and I'm planning on making it my new carry piece. I've already ordered a StealthGear holster, which did fine for my SP2022.I tried AIWB briefly using an (admittedly cheap) appendix holster, and couldn't find a comfortable position. I really like the look of the TRex sidecar, but I'm worried I'm going to spend $100+ on a holster I won't want to wear.Does having a smaller pistol and a better holster really make that big of a difference, or should I stick with what I'm used to, and have practiced with? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/TYcHRqz

Why don’t more people use shoulder holsters/armpit holsters

I am Canadian (19 y/o), so I don’t have any experience with concealed carry, but when I am out hunting with my dad he always has a revolver (sadly not for much longer) in a under arm holster as a bear gun, if he were to wear a simple jacket over it it would be almost invisible and from my experience the draw is still reasonably fast, I haven’t seen a lot of people that choose to use that, and they always go for carrying around the waist via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/m5VCizE

Hellcat fell out of Vedder Light Tuck holster

Been carrying this hellcat AIWB for a couple months in a vedder light tuck, no issues. Today, when taking a piss, it fell out! I had to pee really bad and was in a hurry, but I was not being erratic or anything. I undid my pants, holster flopped over my pants while I was in a hurry undoing them, and tally ho! There went the Hellcat. So it fell a couple feet, hit the bath mat in my bathroom (tile floor), bounced and leaned itself against the wall, barrel down. After finishing my business, I inspected the Hellcat and can’t see any visual signs of damage. I then performed a function test and still no issue spotted. Is it still good and safe to fire? I imagine so but posting anyways. First time I’ve dropped a firearm. Now I’m going to tighten this holster…Vedder, I’m mad at you!!! /u/VedderHolsters via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/sUpK2ZA
