A friend of mine was robbed at gunpoint, and pistol whipped last week, while withdrawing money from a bank.To preface :Houston, Texas. He is pro carry, has a LTC, but only carries when he feels like it. He was not carrying in this scenario. I would not say he is super able bodied (He's in his 50's, doesn't exercise much), and his proficiency with his firearm is limited. He drives a 120,000 dollar SUV, and he said it was broken into while he was in the SAME bank 4 months ago, to what he believes were the same guys from this robbery.Situation :He pulled up to the bank, in parking spots facing towards the bank, about 30 feet away from the entrance (Imagine his SUV, parked. Facing directly towards the assailants car on the opposite side of the lot)He stated that there was a "Brand new BMW M8, with paper plates, parked directly in front of the bank. Black tint windows, but I could see 2 black males from through the windshield staring at me".He walked in the bank, thinking not too much of it, although he did say that something felt off about them just sitting there, staring at him as he went in.He exited the bank, with a zippered bank bag in one hand ($450), and a white envelope in the other hand ($2,000). He said he saw the same car, still parked there. As he passed it, it was slowly creeping behind him before accelerating, and cutting him off.Two black males jumped out, and one was armed with a pistol. He immediately turned around the ran for the bank entrance. As he reached the front entrance, one guy jumped on his back, and he then fell to the ground. He The other man went back to the car. As this was happening, he was resisting letting the man take the zippered bag, and banging on the entrance yelling for help. The man pistol whipped him and he then gave up the bag with $450.Both of the assailants exited the parking lot, and he was left bleeding on the ground.Post scenario :Police were called, they will have to obtain the camera footage from the bank corporate office, and the will "look into it".He told me he will start carrying his CC on his person, regularly now. He is also seeking firearms training.Questions :What could he gave done if he were armed?Should he have remained completely compliant with the criminals while be unarmed? What type of training would he benefit from if he were armed? How should he move forward in the future, in regards to withdrawing money, and listening to his senses..? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/uR3QICY
