Can My fiancé take pepper spray to California?
My girlfriend is going via bus to California tonight. And because of her immigrant status and California being the shithole that it is I can’t give her my gun. But can she take pepper spray? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/31zcGEn
Picked up the Sig made CO2 P226 for some basement "live" fire practice. Seems to simulate recoil fairly well, weight and feeling in the hand is spot on. Any thoughts on CO2 vs lasers or plain dryfire practice?

I need new EDC belt recommendations!!!
Currently I’m carrying with a Nexbelt EDC Titan and have been for about a year. I tend to have the belt decently tight but recently I’ve noticed my gun prints a bit more and I have to wear my belt tighter. I looked at the inside of my belt by chance and noticed the thick plastic liner inside is cracked all over, especially where my holster claw sits. So my question is, should I get a different belt or just the a replacement of the same one I have? Do EDC belts just have a lifespan that I’m unaware of? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2QNzX36
CCW with a tucked in shirt

What to do if someone breaks into your house and you have a firearm?
If someone breaks into your home, should you use a firearm to stop them immediately or try to deescalate the situation before firing your weapon? I got into a discussion with someone and, they said you should try and stop them without firing to see why they are there and what they want.
This seems unrealistic because if someone breaks into your home, you don't know if they are armed, their intentions, and how dangerous they are.
What do yall think? I would probably go ahead and shoot them before they can retaliate because I wouldn't want to take the risk.

Anybody know if the Shield Plus with night sights has not been released or is just out of stock everywhere?
Buying my first CCW gun, been shooting my entire life but never had a CCW. I want the new shield plus with the stock tritium night nights, but they are out of stock everywhere and no local dealer even has them on their website. Anybody know why this is? And general ETA's of them being released/back in stock places? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3wjIsU6
Best carry for a heavy guy
First off, I'm new to this community though have had my CCW for well over a year now. I am finding a lot of useful posts.Because of my size, I have always been scared of carrying at my waste so I carry in an ankle holster. I am however looking at starting to carry at my waste for better/quicker access. I am just wondering if there are other heavy set people that carry on their waste either in front or in back/side that can give some pointers on how to best carry as a big person. I want to be comfortable in my carry so I am reaching out to those wiser and more experienced than I. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2PPf8ni

Looking for first CCW....inventory not great, what to do?
Ive been telling myself over and over not to buy any weapon without first testing it. The problem Im finding during my first concealed carry search is that there are a bunch of possibilities, but local inventory does not have a lot of them. I can find the G19, but what about a CZ P10c, or a Sig 365XL? Or a myriad of others. Its a pretty hefty purchase (financially and "personally"), but do you buy a gun without test firing one? Or do you hold out and wait to test every possibility? Or do you just suck it up and buy whats in stock?Dilemma! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2OepqNE

P-01 OWB Holster Recommendations
Recently got a new CZ P-01 that I'd like to add into my carry rotation, but need to figure out a good holster for it. What I'm looking for:OWB at 3-4 o'clockLeatherFits a mounted Surefire XC-1 lightPrefer thumb break and steal mouth insert if possibleI was really hoping to go with an Andrews Leather Hybrid Saddle Style, but I read on their site that they can't accommodate weapon lights. My searching thus far hasn't turned up anything I can get excited about. If anyone has recommendations, I'd love to hear them. If there aren't any that fit my criteria, I'd also be willing to look at kydex, but I'd prefer to stick with leather if possible. Thanks! via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3maiYU9
do sticky/grippy holsters actually stay in the pocket for anyone?
maybe it's just because the pockets on my overalls are big, but i got a grippy holster today (not a sticky holster, here is a page for it) and, while it does work great for IWB, when i try it in my pocket, it just comes out with the gun, there is 0 grip against my pocket. i tried a pair of my summer overalls which have a tighter fit and smaller pockets and the exact same thing happened. if i used it like this, i would have to pull the handgun out and then pull the holster off of it, which i think is dumb and not how a holster should work. then again, some people carry unchambered and have to rack the slide, so maybe it's a matter of perspective. how is pulling the holster off real quick any more of a contrivance than racking the slide? i don't personally want to have to deal with either of those complications, but again, maybe it's a matter of perspective. i keep the thumb safety on, many people see that as a contrivance.i'm not sure if it's because the holster fits too tightly around my gun, or if it's an inherent limitation of the format. do you think this problem is solved by just finding one that's a little bit bigger that has less retention? i have other options for carry, but i'd like to make pocket carry work for me because it's the most versatile and most comfortable method i've tried. or perhaps i should find a different grippy holster that is wider so that it better fills up the space in my pocket? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3sCZDgU
Riverside CA CCW
I was wondering if anyone could help me out or if anyone has any insight, I applied for the initial ccw application through riverside county back in September and today I had my scheduled interview with my investigator we went over everything and he said everything seemed good he just wanted me to revise my good cause to make it more specific. Then he asked me if I had ever been arrested before and I informed him that about 11 years ago I was arrested for public intoxication, I explained what happened and what the outcome was and he asked me to type up a statement about what happened that night and what the conclusion was and submit it on the website. I was wondering if anyone knows if an arrest for that crime and being that it’s 11 years old would disqualify me from this process? Also I’d thought I’d mention that I’ve kept my nose squeaky clean since then haven’t even gotten any tickets. Any info is appreciated thank you. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/39vfoyU

Best holster for appendix carry of XD9 (4 inch)
As the title says, I am trying to find a holster that will work for concealed appendix edc. I currently have a fobus holster and it's great but way too bulky and my shirts don't conceal it at all. If it helps I am more of an athletic build. I was looking into alienware shapeshift but I'm hearing mixed things. Any advice is appreciated. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3sCmCJb

Do you cant your holster?
I carry 4 o'clock iwb and my newest holster has a cant option. I'm thinking of playing with it to help with concealment and drawing. My thinking is if I angle the holster a bit it'll act almost like a claw and conceal the handle better. What do y'all do? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/31zVJcJ
I carry a Glock 43x with 115 grain critical defense but i just recently acquired a box of 147 grain speer gold dot. Will a shorter barrel length affect anything with the difference in grain? or should I keep the 147 grain to my glock 19 and p320? Thanks

* California/El Dorado, Nevada/Douglas * 180 Days / 56 Days * G22 / Tier 1 AIWB (with claw and wedge) * 2 day in person training. * Nevada’s finally came today (can’t believe how much more formal theirs looks). Living 3 miles from the border makes a permit worthless until you have both.

Anyone in Orange County CA know the turnaround time for renewal?
I’m at 2 months without even being assigned for review. Starting to wonder if my license is just going to expire before they even look at my application. Anybody have a recent renewal in OC? What kind of turnaround should I expect? Iirc the website said not to submit more than 3-4 months early, but with the last year being what it was is that just out of date info? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3wcUazy

Best mini reflex red dot for CCW and home defense?
I recently purchased a Walther PDP Compact and I am in the market for a mini red dot that is suitable for home defense and CCW. I went to eurooptic a couple days ago to compare all the popular reflex sights. I intended to buy a Trijicon RMR while driving there. However, I was underwhelmed with the Trijicon. The Leupold was nice, but it sat higher and it felt unnatural to aiming the way it mounted higher on the test gun.Surprisingly, I like the Chinese Holoson best, the 507 and 508 in titanium in particular. Does anyone have any experience with these or any other popular reflex sights? I am looking for something that is very reliable and very durable. I know the Trijicon RMR has a great track record, but the glass clarity was subpar (especially compared to Leupold and Holosun) the window was tiny, and the blue tint was a bit annoying.I'm leaning toward Holoson, but the only thing that gives me pause is that it is made in China. I hate that. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/3dmhNNL
