Car Safe big enough for handgun IN IWB holster

I'm about to get my CCW this week. Once you add the size of my handgun to the IWB holster (Aliengear cloak tuck), it's pretty large and I'm concerned it won't fit in most under-the-seat lock boxes. Does anyone have any suggestions for lock boxes big enough to fit both the gun and holster? I'd like to remove the gun with the holster rather than holstering/reholstering every time I need to go somewhere where weapons are restricted. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2sipKeq

Looking for advice on which IWB holster with an UltiClip to get for a Shield

Hey guys and gals, I'm picking up a shield since they're so incredibly cheap right now and this will be my first time carrying on my waist as I currently pocket carry an LCP.I am interested to know what you guys recommend for a good IWB holster for appendix carry that uses Ulticlips? I like the ulticlips because I don't always wear a belt. Is kydex comfortable to wear at appendix? There are so many options and I'm not sure how to pick what's right for me. Are there any companies that make this product in mass, or will I have to wait 2-3 months after I order? Very new to this and open to any and all suggestions. From my own research, I've found these:http://ift.tt/2rJpbgH http://ift.tt/2sik43Q in advance! via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2rJymgW

Post office outlets

Local Pharmacy has a "Post Office" inside it - not a full one but like a contracted one. It's in a corner of the store, you can visit the rest of the pharmacy without going near it.Question is I can't work out if I can carry in there, I never have but it would be more convenient. Anyone know? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2rfjIww

GoRuck + G-Code SOC RTI Holster + G19 (x-post from /r/Glocks)

Images: http://ift.tt/2reYChK currently live in DC. (I know, I know. I'm moving to VA in a few months and applying for a Utah non-resident CCW shortly and a VA resident permit once the move is complete.) In the mean time, I've been wanting to find a way transport my weapon to/from the range discreetly. After ~9 weeks of waiting, my G-Code order got dropped off on my front step. Here's what you're looking at:GoRuck GR1SOC RTI Holster + SOC Light CowlingGDM Kydex Pistol Magazine Carrier(2) RTI H-MAR MOLLE AdaptorG19 + TLR1 HLIn short, it works. :)Edit: Just want to add that I'm posting this here because I wasn't able to find much online about how others had setup their backpacks for this sort of thing. Hope it's helpful to others that are looking for an off-body carry option in the future. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2qJXa3x

Has anyone here felt like they wasted money on a sub-par CCW class?

So recently I went in for my CCW class at a place in Las Vegas, which charged me $120 for a combined 8 hour class and thirty rounds of verification at the range. I don't want to name them, but if any locals have been there you probably know the place I'm talking about. I thought it was a little strange that the shooting came first, with them putting me on the range immediately upon getting there at 9AM, but it was simple enough to pass. After the short range time I was sent over to another building, where the class itself was. I was one of about ten people, and our instructor seemed friendly enough.Unfortunately, I learned basically nothing over the next 7-8 hours. I really can't stress how bare-bones the lesson was. It felt unorganized, with visual aids in the form of seemingly random things strewn about a table in no particular order, and consisted mainly of watching videos. We were given small handbooks about firearms laws in various states, and when someone asked about what the firearms laws were in, say, California if you were traveling through, the instructor told him "look it up".Off the top of my head, we very briefly covered:Holsters, consisting of one example of an OWB, a pocket carried .25, and, of all things, Mexican carry. An extensive, nearly hour long section about when he and his other range buddies tried firing various wrong calibers out of various handguns, for...reasons, I guess? I'm not sure what he was hoping to accomplish here. "Don't fire the wrong bullet for your handgun" seems like it should be pretty common sense.Twenty minutes of shilling for Hornandy, with the usual "look at how impressive this slow-mo ballistics gel test is" nonsense. In short: Hornandy good, Speer baaad.Taking us out of the classroom to sell us on their indoor shoot-house training. While I'm sure it's a nice thing to have, it contributed nothing to the topic at hand.Repeatedly stopping to talk about how much of a bad-ass cop he was twenty years ago.The rest of the time was spent on videos that may or may not have had anything to do with concealed carrying. Most of them were officer involved and were clearly justified, and I can only think of two that involved concealed carry at all. The "test" at the end wasn't actually a test, and the guy went through it with us step by step. There was literally no chance of failing it.The videos were alright, but honestly I feel like I learned more from watching Active Self Protection and following links from this sub relating to various aspects of when and where to carry, and the ramifications of doing so. I'm sure if you went into the class knowing absolutely nothing about CCW you'd come away with a very basic understanding of things, but for the money I expected more. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2rI8RN9

Carrying my GP100. Is it possible?

Hello /r/CCW I'm looking for carry options for my 4" barreled GP100. Presently I carry a Shield in a Stealth Gear holster with a Beltman horse hide non reinforced belt. Its working great for EDC in whatever clothes I want to wear.I recently bought a GP100 and want to carry it when I'm fishing or hiking in the woods. This leaves me options to change my dress style when it comes to concealment. I'm unfamiliar with revolver carry. In my state I can open carry lawfully when I'm fishing but I would rather keep it concealed. The weight and size of the gun is my concern so I'm looking for a good setup that would conceal well and support the weight. I want to carry the GP100 because i shoot very well with it. I'm looking for recommendations for holsters and belts for a gun this size. I'm open to dressing to conceal this gun. I want to hear from those who do conceal a large size and heavy gun. via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/2shU4FR
