I have been victim of physical attack only twice. First time when I was quite young, by a frustrated service man who kept demanding unreasonable amount of money.
Second time today, by a car driver with anger issues. He got down shouting curse words at me but surprisingly swung his arm towards my face.
I was on my bike. I already had my arm out trying to calm him down, which stood guard against his punch, so fortunately my face is safe. Didn’t attack back to de-escalate the situation quickly and there was crowd around.
But I call this luck. I need to carry around something for self defence. I am 5’8” with a light body frame.
I’m strong and agile but not very effective against muscular or beefy people. Have training with nunchucks in the past.
I am considering carrying them during commute in a quick to deploy case. What do y’all think about it’s effectiveness against fights not involving guns?
