So I'm going to be in Maine for a little this Summer and would like to be able to carry while there. I'm under 21 so I have to get a non resident carry permit. One of the requirements on the application is "proof of knowledge of handgun safety". I've been told elsewhere that an NRA basic pistol course certificate would be sufficient, and so that is what I intend to take. My question is what actually gets taught in the course? The course is listed as lasting 8 hours on the NRA website, with a preliminary written course taken online. What are you actually being told in those 8 hours? Why does it take so long? via /r/CCW http://ift.tt/1M3xA3D
