Sick of buying back my rights from the state. Rant inside.

Just recently paid $75 to re-issue my CCW permit from IL after changing addresses. I thought it was a processimg error, so I called the IL state police legal department (because they are too incompetent to man the phones on their firearms division), and they told me that was correct. Some BS excuse, of course. At least it's not the $150 I had to pay originally to get my permit issue for the first time. Not to count the cost of attending 16 hours of mandatory training. So what if I had low income and couldn't afford hundreds of dollars to exercise my constitutional right? It's insane.Anyways... Be careful of where you move to, these career bureaucrats only care about money and taking your liberty away. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2N73OgO

Getting over AD fear with X-draw? Different carry positions for the vehicle?

I've been carrying concealed for 20+ years. First, less than legally as a pizza delivery driver who'd been robbed and assaulted multiple times. I've carried licensed and legally for the last 10+ years. I grew up with firearms, hunting and with LEOs as family friends. I'm capable, responsible, confident, and not complacent.I've always carried at the 5 o'clock position, round in chamber, and never had a concern about an AD.However, recent events have driven me to consider how I carry in my car and while seated, and I've moved to a cross-draw for my Kahr PM9. But now I struggle with the fact that I've got a 9mm pointed at my femoral artery and my wedding tackle. I've read about the likelihood of an AD with a PM9, which is next to nil, and I'm extremely cautious while holstering, and very conscious of the position of my finger while drawing. But I still can't get over the fear of accidentally shooting off my manhood, or suffering a quickly fatal wound. So, how do I get over the fear? Or is there a better alternative to vehicle carry that doesn't force me to re-holster when getting in and out of the car? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2tKAxj7

Just wanted to share a great holster that isn’t $80. I’ve had it for a month and it is extremely comfortable.

G43: Comfortable AIWB Holsters, not too bulky?

Picked up a Vedder, not very happy. Hurts a ton. Kydex and foam wedge has always been my go to, but I've only carried revolvers. Been wearing this vedder a week AIWB, trying it now without the claw to see if it improves but i'm printing a ton now. Might send it back, quality is super awesome but it's killing me at every depth or cant. What about one of those Stealth Gear Scorpions? I live in South Florida so I tend to dress fitted and light. I don't mind sweating in the thing.. I just dont want to feel like im stuffing rocks in my belt line. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2KvmwQQ

Things I learned tonight: I want my handgun a lot more accessible than a locked glove box

EC9S vs LCPII for Concealed Carry

Hey guys so I just got my concealed carry permit and my first paycheck of the summer (college student) and am now looking for a new gun. I've narrowed it down to the EC9S or the LCP 2 from ruger (with the shield and Star BM being the devils on my shoulder trying to get me to go for looks over price/reliability).What I love about the LCP is the size. It's a gorgeous gun that will absolutely disappear and I like the looks a lot more. The problems are 1. Not a big fan of 380, I already have a ton of 9mm ammo and adding another caliber is a bit of a dissuasion and 2. I don't like striker fired with no safety. Say what you will but that's just me, I'm not a big fan of safeties to begin with (I have two carry revolvers) but with striker fires it's just way to light a trigger for me (i've personally had a ND on the range from a crappy holster (that came with the gun no less) that has put me off from it. I fear that If I bought it I'd end up Israeli carrying. What I like about the EC9S is the price, trigger, and the fact that it's 9mm. I pocket carry an SP101 so I don't necessarily thing it's too big but on the other hand I already have the big heavy CC gun covered ya know? I'm also not a big fan of the looks, but for $200 I think I could deal with it. I already have plenty of 9mm ammo and another full sized gun chambered in it so that's something to consider as well.Thoughts? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2yMLGpl
