Glock 19 with a Surefire X300 for carry

Who here has this setup? It seems pretty popular with a lot of YouTube gun guys like Garand Thumb and Lucas Botkin (latter is a real SOB, I know), but I'm curious if a lot of us regulars like it too.Right now I primarily carry a G17 with an X400, but I'm looking to downsize a little bit when not wearing many layers. Also, it seems like the X300 is much easier to find good holsters for. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2MIAvEh

If you’re pulled over and NOT carrying, do you still present your CCW? Michigan

I took a refresher class over the weekend and my biggest take away was how this instructor talked about being pulled over. When I took my initial classes, our instructor told us whether you’re carrying or not, when pulled over you should pass over your CCW with your license and verbally make it known that you are licensed to carry. This instructor on Saturday said that you should only produce your CCW if you’re carrying, that it could cause issues if you hand it over without carrying. The officer could give you an issue if he/ she has disbelief in your statement about not carrying. Also, I don’t know if this is true or not, but he said that officers in Michigan no longer can see on their car screens, prominently, whether or not you have a CCW so they’re essentially walking blind to your car after running your plates. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2NEhgLz

How proficient should your aim be?

I have a decently fast draw (only slightly over a second) and I've practiced sitting and standing. At the range I can stay within the 8-circle, sometimes 7, at 7 yards. I've only fired roughly 150-200 rounds in my life, only got a handgun as I got into CCW a month ago, so I'm not as experienced as many of y'all when it comes to shooting and guns in general. Is there a level of accuracy you would consider as "acceptable"? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/328dbmY

Concealed carry after rehab?

FLORIDAA little over 5 years ago I was arrested for a dui, my one and only. As a result of this I had to undergo a substance abuse evaluation which resulted in me going to rehab. My question is, since the courts didn't specify any involuntary commitment and only that I follow the recommended treatment, would that be considered a disqualifying result? The facility that I went to was not locked, I was free to leave at any time. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2UasVTT

Going to apply for my CCP this weekend at my first gunshow.

Going to the gun show to look at different options of my first carry. Probably won’t leave with one but it’ll give me a good idea of what I like and what feels nice in the hand. Are there any tips or guidelines when going to a gun show that I should be aware of? via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2Pkxxrx
