And change the way you feel and see things? I feel at the very least it gives you some sort of hope and confidence that you never had before. Maybe you felt helpless but self defense gives you that power to have a choice. I'm guessing if bullies figure out that you can fight or at least defend yourself they'll think twice about picking on you.
