For our LEO friends - Back in the 70s when I was stationed in Alaska, in my off time I was a volunteer patrolman on the Master at Arms Force. One night instead of using my baton to subdue a combative drunk, I used my mace (spray). Bad bad idea. Bad bad BAD. I had to handcuff him and wrestle him into the back of my van. It got all over me. The fumes spread in the vehicle and I could barely see. Then I had to wrestle him out of the van, into the station, and into a cell. I threw away the mace. I didn't want to break any more arms, but I went back to using the baton.
