This is a long post with a bunch of unnecessary information. Jump down to the summary if you like.A couple weeks ago I started talking to a friend about switching over from strong-side carry to AIWB with my Glock 43. The holster I had at the time was your standard kydex unit, with a large clip on it and a fixed forward cant. It worked great for the 4:00 position and I wore it every day. I played around with it on the appendix position, and I liked the idea of carrying there. But with the cant, it wasn't feasible. I wanted to try AIWB for real. And I really wanted something that would allow me to tuck in my shirt. So I decided it was time for a new holster. I sat down and wrote out my list of must-haves:KydexSweat preventionAdjustable retention/cant/ride heightTuckableGood concealment when tuckedLittle-to-no extra bulkLess than $45 shippedAfter a couple hours of Googling, looking at every popular brand, and searching this sub heavily I was kind of discouraged. Anything halfway decent was $60, usually not even including shipping. I wouldn't mind spending that much on a high quality holster, but I just wasn't quite sold on the value factor. (Looking at you, Vedder.) I thought, there's gotta be something out there 95% as good for less than 75% the cost. This is America baby!I finally came across this oddball brand, Outbags USA, on eBay. Went over their website and looked at their Calamity line (their only kydex offering), and poked around for information about the company, FAQs, etc. I liked what they were doing, even if they were located in FreedomLite™, USA.Outside of their website, there was really not much talk about the brand. Certainly none to speak of here. They had the FF1 model on Amazon with a few pretty good reviews, but a cheaper price on their website. $22 shipped! That's about 35% the price of the LightTuck! So I bought one.The packaging it came in was the opposite of fancy. No frills. Just the holster, some packing materials and a little card with information on carry positions, warranty, etc. After setting the the ride height, cant and retention, I tested it out AIWB. It felt good. I'm 6'0" and 190 lbs, with a mildly athletic build. And I've got a little bit of a stomach, but with the right ride height, it's not really an issue. I left the cant screw a little loose to allow it to move a bit for comfort, even though the instructions recommended applying Locktite to the screws once they were set. (I'll probably do that for the retention screw.)Since then, I've worn it all day for four days straight, with my shirt tucked and untucked. I really like appendix carry and I think I've been fully converted now. On my frame it just conceals better. (I'm still getting accustomed to bending over without looking like an absolute moron though.) This holster makes AIWB pretty easy and tucking in is great. Now I can go to work and look a little more professional without having to worry about not having my gun on me.I really like the leather sweat guard. It's a neat little addition that is more comfortable than straight kydex against your skin, which is good because of my stomach. I don't find it irritating at all, as some other reviews I saw had mentioned. It doesn't add to the bulk since it's just a thin layer. The clip is the only thing that's bulky about this holster, and probably my only real gripe. (But they also offer an Ulticlip model for just a little more.) Since I've got it set at the highest ride height, the bottom of the clip sticks out. I may grind down the bottom of the clip a little to eliminate the overhang (see pictures). On the outside of the belt, the clip is kind of large, but it blends in well with my attire and black belt. (Almost invisible with the black pants I've got on now, thanks to black belt loops as well.) It also feels very secure on the belt and I can draw with confidence. Other than that, the kydex shape is a little funny, and it's also kind of a glossy finish. These aren't really cons, but just worth noting.SummaryThis holster does what I need for less cost than I expected. Wearing appendix with a tucked in shirt is comfortable and well-concealed. I'm still getting acquainted, with under a week of use. But I can already say that if I bought a different carry gun, I would buy another one of these without question. If your new holster requirements are similar to mine, check out Outbags' Calamity line. Very affordable and very good.(For full disclosure, I've never tried a Vedder holster, and I'm in no way affiliated with Outbags USA.)Pictures of holster and wearing it with my shirt tucked it - https://ift.tt/2N85Blk for poor cell phone pics.)(Hey, I also finally upgraded to HPs in my EDC.
