How often to replace recoil spring on CCW?

I'm about ~3500 rounds in on my M&P 2.0 Compact and I was wondering when I should replace the recoil spring. I've heard they start to wear out after 5k rounds. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2KjPSS5
