My employer asked to see my permit. UPDATE

So I came in to work today and the first thing that happened was I was asked to meet with my store manager in her office so in I went making sure to open the voice recorder on my phone. I was asked to sit down and then my SM began to say how yesterday they were just making sure that my permit was in date and valid, and how she was just concerned about my safety given recent events happening. She then proceeded to ask me on if I had a firearm in my car. I learned my lesson from yesterday and I decided to keep my mouth shut and say as little as possible, so I said that I don't. She ended up talking about how company policy is to leave it locked in the car and how SHOWING IT TO MY COWORKERS IS NOT LEAVING IT IN A LOCKED CAR...At NO point have I shown my coworkers my guns while on the premise. The only time my guns aren't locked in my car is when I'm meeting people there on my day off to carpool to the woods and we're moving guns from one car to another but I am in the back of the lot far from anyone or any entrance (at least 120m from the front of the Walmart I work at) when I do this and we are discreet in doing so, but I haven't been shooting in close to a month so if anything were to be said it would have been way before now.I was accused with NO evidence that I had been showing guns to people while on the clock and was not given any chance whatsoever to defend myself or set the facts straight. The fact that I have no clue who levied these accusations, THAT ARE PREDICATED ON A LIE, against me is absolutely appalling and the parallels between something like this and red flag laws where there is no due process are terrifying. The fact that a disgruntled coworker was able to nearly got me fired is disgusting. The fact that I, an honest person that works hard and sticks to himself, was nearly fired based off of a lie told by someone else is absolutely disgusting. At no point was I given the benefit of the doubt and I lack the words to describe the disappointment I am currently feeling. This is the future of America if red flag laws are enacted. via /r/CCW https://ift.tt/2NbO6Dr
